Mobiserve’s Telecoms Group: Our Business Size Reached One Billion EGP In 9 Countries

Sameh Atalla, CEO of Mobiserve said that the business size of Mobiserve holdings is nearly a billion EGP which it differs each year, ranging annually between 150 to 175 million dollars, he pointed out that Egypt’s share is the biggest share in the market among the other countries with 30% followed by the Pakistani market and then the Algerian.

He declared that the group working in the telecommunications services field in 9 countries, whether mobile or fixed line in construction, installation and maintenance of networks and the building of the towers, He pointed out that Mobieserve group operating in Egypt with Mobinil, Vodafone and Etisalat in addition to Telecom Egypt and in Pakistan with "Mobilink" and "Warid Telecom" and in Algeria with "Djezzy", "wataniya" and "Nedjma", in addition to its work with leading suppliers such as "Alcatel" and "Siemens" and "Huawei".

That was during a meeting held by the group in Cairo, attended by the heads of sectors to honor 140 employees in Egypt whose working in Mobiserve since its inception in Egypt 10 years ago whether they are administrative or engineers or technicians from the total 5300 employees of the company in 9 countries, In a thanking message to its employees for their loyalty and their efforts in improving performance and volume of work in all its branches in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kenya, which serves Kenya, Burundi, Central African Republic.

As for Mobiserve’s plan in 2010, Sameh Atalla declared that Mobiserve’s group plans to expand horizontally and vertically whether geographically by entering new markets in new countries or by offering more services in the countries that are already in, pointing out that the company has expanded both horizontally and geographically in 2009 in spite of the global financial crisis and entered three new countries which are Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Kenya, also expanded horizontally in Bangladesh in 2009 and offered maintenance services in addition to constructing the networks.

And in a comparison between the current status and the beginning status of the company after celebrating in the end of 2009 the tenth anniversary of its establishment Sameh Atalla said “the company established in 1999 offering one service and had only100 employees while after 10 years the company has now 5300 employees 2000 of them in Egypt, the company now operates in 9 countries instead of only one and has 11 different kind of services instead of one, which increased the size of the company’s business from a million dollars to about 175 million dollars.

As for getting a license in Egypt from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority for the construction of towers for mobile operators serving the three mobile operating networks, Sameh Atalla CEO of Mobiserve said “the company is considering this now and will determine its direction after knowing more details about these licenses”

He added” the group is depending on the exceptional Egyptian labor which are trained very well and increase their skills and send them to our branches in the other countries”

He noted that “Mobiserve distinct from the other companies for it operates in 9 countries and provides an integrated solution in their services beginning from finding the right place and then build the station and then placement of the equipment and run on the air then the maintenance work, then Mobiserve work on printing bills and distribute them. Also pointing out that the other companies compete on offering some of these services but not all together like Mobiserve do”

He pointed out that” the headquarter of the Mobiserve's group is located in Egypt, adding that the company was owned by Orascom Telecom since its establishment in 1999 until 2008 when the company's shares were put on sale and was bought by several invest funds in the UAE, but the company’s share still more than the share of the investment funds”
