Nawras, a Qtel Group company, is proud to have recently made a successful appearance for the students at Nizwa Applied Sciences College during their Student’s Festival, in which Nawras shared a series of inspiring stories and pleasingly different presentations with over 300 students from across the Sultanate. Led by Nawras head of corporate affairs, Tariq Al Barwani, the discussions highlighted tips for building prosperous career paths while balancing healthy, extracurricular social and personal activities. The event was held under the auspices of HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Isae, Chairman of Shura Council.
The forum is a true link between various aspects of Oman’s educational system, looking at how young Omanis can contribute to the global, scientific and economic developments shaping our world today. In addition to talking with local business pioneers, the event included a number of student presentations on applied sciences, highlighting the role of such work in serving Omani society. Bringing their ideas to life, there was even a student-run exhibition held on the sidelines of the forum to showcase the exceptional value of students’ latest work at the college.
“At Nawras, we always strive to manage our business responsibly with a keen focus on the well-being of society and providing a pleasingly different approach to customer care,” commented Al Barwani during his speech. “Chatting with dedicated students who are enthusiastic about what they do is a very rewarding experience. Whatever your interest may be, there are no limits to how much you can achieve with a solid education and the support of local community members.”
Al-Barwani is an active community, media and IT personality who has extensive experience in forming start-up initiatives across the Sultanate. As part of the Nawras family, Al-Barwani has led the development of several online projects including the company’s award winning interactive website—www.nawras.om—which has earned a number of golden awards locally and regionally for its excellence.
Since Nawras’ participation in the Students’ Festival, the company has launched an innovative Nawras graduate programme designed to promote a range of exciting career opportunities for young Omanis. The full service telecom provider will be working closely with universities across the Sultanate to inspire a new generation of communication professionals. As well as outlining the exciting technological challenges and rewards of working in the telecom field with one of the country’s preferred employers, Nawras is taking great pride in meeting graduates and their family members to discuss their specific areas of interest.
Nawras is dedicated to operating its business in a socially responsible manner by being an integral member of Omani society. Nawras is a caring company, sponsoring numerous charitable events, community organisations and social development programmes.
