Published Jun 1, 2010

Enterasys®, the network infrastructure and security division of Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co KG, today announced that Smartworld, a Dubai-based next-generation information and communications technology (ICT) services provider, has deployed Enterasys Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM) to improve its IT infrastructure’s overall network uptime and security. With support from Enterasys SIEM’s advanced features, Smartworld’s IT staff has realized its goals of effective network security management and zero network downtime to better serve its customers.

“Smartworld’s enterprise network infrastructure is crucial to successfully achieving our business targets,” explained Moustafa Kaddoura, CTO of Smartword. “Enterasys security solutions gives us the network visibility and insight required to eliminate threats and resolve issues through an end-to-end set of services for detection, prevention, and remediation.”

Enterasys SIEM is an appliance-based solution that provides Smartworld’s network administrators with crucial behavioral analysis and information from third party vulnerability assessment tools, delivering a highly intelligent, yet simple to use security management solution.

“Enterasys security solutions enable organizations to easily and cost-effectively improve security,” said Edward Semerjibashian, senior vice president of Central / Eastern EMEA & Asia-Pacific for Enterasys. “We are pleased to work with Smartworld to help realize its business targets and provide world-class service to their customers.”

“We have realized technical and commercial advantages from deploying Enterasys,” Kaddoura continued.

“Smartworld’s network security and 24/7 availability to our customers depend upon visibility and analysis. Using SIEM, we now have effective network security management that helps us determine the root cause of problems, understand their ramifications and report this data in a business context in order to protect critical traffic and network assets.”
