Dimension Data Honoured With DP World RBP Award

Dimension Data, the $4 billion IT solutions and services provider, announced that DP World has honoured them with the coveted ‘3 x3 ’ Award for their contribution to DP World’s Responsible Business Practices (RBP) initiatives, which include community support initiatives, waste reduction and cost down programmes. DP World’s unique award formally recognises Dimension Data’s efforts and contributions, which have met and complied with various industry and DP World’s business practices.

Speaking during presentation of the award, Mr. Iqbal Khoury, Senior Vice President Procurement DP World, said, “Dimension Data has not only demonstrated its capability as a company that delivers projects professionally but also as an organisation that is committed to the communities and environment where it operates. After extensive assessment, we found that Dimension Data had met and exceeded all the criteria required to be eligible for our ‘3 x 3’ Award. We are delighted to present Dimension Data with this award for its contribution to our RBP initiatives and for its efforts to reduce waste and costs of our projects. We look forward to their continued support in our community initiatives in future.”

DP World’s ’3 x 3’ Certificate has been designed to inspire and encourage its key suppliers to deliver a 9% total cost reduction in value to DP World’s terminals through 3% for Community Support, 3% for Waste reduction and 3% for ‘Cost Down’ innovation.

Dimension Data met all the criteria required by DP World to be eligible for this award, which included complying with all CSR, Governance and Business areas, delivering products and services to DP World terminals, and contributing to DP World’s RBP initiatives and Community Projects.

Dimension Data, which had signed a global framework agreement with DP World in 2009, has been providing world-class technology solutions, and services including network integration, security, converged communications and data centres & storage solutions to DP World’s 49 terminals across the globe.

Dimension Data has already successfully completed major IT infrastructure projects for DP World’s Djibouti and Aden terminals. As part of the projects, the company has supported DP World’s community projects, such as the ‘Safe Water’ initiative in Djibouti, where Dimension Data’s contributions assisted DP World to provide water storage and filtration units to more than 60 rural communities across the city.
