Itworx Delivers New Portal And Content Management Tool For Dubai World Trade Center

Published Jun 9, 2010

ITWorx, a leading professional software services provider in the Middle East, announced the successful delivery of a content management system (CMS) and portal to the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC). DWTC is an integrated MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) service provider, offering venues, events, real estate and hospitality, with the aim of positioning Dubai as a global financial and commercial hub.

DWTC’s former web presence was not easy to manage and did not altogether fulfill its goal of providing an interactive web portal with organized and categorized information. To realize DWTC’s objectives, ITWorx designed and built an integrated, Vignette-based CMS, both scalable and robust, supporting a new public portal.

“We were very pleased to have partnered with ITWORX for our website project and were impressed with their knowledge, commitment, and flexibility in meeting our requirements,” said Wesam Lootah, DWTC VP – Information Technology.

ITWorx selected Vignette technology which allows organizations to quickly build, manage and deploy web applications that streamline business processes, leverage content, and deliver a compelling online experience. Web content publishing, including multimedia, is strictly controlled through workflows defined by the DWTC; and a web analytics module provides key reports for decision-makers.

“A content management system enables the creation, management, distribution, and publishing of information, whether text, images, video, or such, in a simple and efficient manner;” explained Hossam Badr, ITWorx Regional Sales and Marketing Director – EMEA. “By automating many processes, organizations can deliver the right content in the right context, which helps improve sales, increase user satisfaction, and facilitate communication with the public.”

Available in both Arabic and English, the new DWTC portal is easy to navigate. An Event Calendar displays events by day, week, or month and lists hot events as well. Using the Event Planner component, organizers can make online reservations by selecting the event date, type, expected number of attendees, and preferred location. DWTC visitors can also take a 360° virtual tour inside the venue.

ITWorx is a key Vignette partner in the Middle East having delivered a variety of solutions built on Vignette technology, including solutions for HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Media Office, du, MBC, Saudi Airlines, United Technologies Corporation, Carrier, Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky Aircraft, Hamilton Sundstrand, Vodafone, and Sundyne. With over thirteen years in content management, Vignette is a global leader, powering the websites of many of the world’s leading brands.
