Nahel.Com Opts For Microsoft Browser To Improve Customer Experience

Published Jun 13, 2010

Microsoft Gulf announced that Nahel.com, UAE’s fastest growing online shopping website has opted for Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) in efforts to further improve its customer’s online shopping experience in the region. Improvement in performance and new features including Instant Search Box, Web Slices, Accelerators, SmartScreen Filter, InPrivate Browsing and Domain Highlighting gives Nahel.com a competitive edge whereby its customers can have a more secure, reliable, faster and richer experience when shopping online.

Nahel.com has customized IE8’s unique feature-‘Web Slice’ to include live and up-to-date information for its “Deal of the Day” segment, that gives customers the ability to look for great offers without the need to visit the nahel.com website. Another popular feature of IE8 is ‘Accelerators’ that enable users to quickly look up a particular item without having to visit the actual website - example a user who is reading reviews of a product on any website, can simply highlight the product name, click on the Accelerator icon that appears next to the highlighted text and quickly get the available listings from Nahel.com.

“As e-commerce continues to grow in the region, consumer confidence is critical to its success. Nahel.com is continuously working on implementing the latest technology tools for its customers to ensure they have a secure and reliable online shopping experience,” Saeid Hejazi, Founder and Managing Director of Nahel.com. “With the advanced features of IE8, we are able to offer a more secure and convenient shopping platform to our growing online community. By making extensive use of IE8’s new features, we have developed customized add-ons that can help extend our functionality to deliver an easy user experience and help them find products and great deals online.”

Ramez Dandan, Platform Strategy Manager, Microsoft Gulf said, “Today’s tech-savvy consumers are constantly making purchases online. Therefore, e-retailers need to continue to invest in web site improvements to attract visitors and increase customer loyalty. IE8s improved toolkits, applications and robust security features allows a faster, easier, more reliable and richer online experience for buyers and sellers to connect. We are glad to work with Nahel to help them maintain a constant presence on millions of computers in the region.”

In response to extensive customer research and input from tens of millions of customer sessions, Microsoft developed IE 8 to focus on what matters most to people. IE 8 takes a big step forward in browser innovation and is designed for what people really do on the web to make things like searching, emailing, communicating, shopping, or just catching up on the world faster, easier, and safer than ever.
