Stay On Top Of The Game With Etisalat’s Special 2010 World Cup Mobile Services And Fun-Filled Activities Across UAE

Soaring the football fever higher, Etisalat has launched a host of 2010 World Cup services that will fully equip customers in the UAE to follow every detail of every game being played in South Africa throughout the championship.

Commenting on the launch of dedicated 2010 World Cup services and activities, Khalifa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Etisalat said, “The FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest global sporting event that is viewed by millions of people worldwide and the sport of football is very close to our hearts. Keeping in line with UAE’s enthusiasm for the upcoming championship, Etisalat aims to give its customers innumerable exciting options to stay connected to all the World Cup action throughout the tournament. Etisalat’s special services for the event, sponsorships of screening tents and organized activities in mall outlets across the country will allow customers to make the most of the football frenzy that is going to engulf us all very soon.”

Etisalat will offer a general SMS subscription service for the duration of the entire championship to cover all the football matches goal-to-goal and customers can subscribe by sending ‘WC’ to 1110, at a total price of 10Dhs only.

A new Etisalat 2010 World Cup mobile Portal has been specially developed and is a unique WAP portal that will provide the football fans in UAE with all the news and details about the event and the participating teams at any time. Customers can also stay updated through dedicated team news feed and player profiles, statistics, fixtures table and team line-ups by subscribing to the Mobile portal; SMS ‘WC’ to 1611 for only 12 Dhs for the whole championship. The portal also offers the customers the chance to follow specific team news and updates via SMS for only AED 3 per week.

In addition, Etisalat has launched a specially developed mobile micro-site under ‘Etisalat WAP Portal’ that is dedicated to the World Cup and allows customers to enjoy various ringtones, wallpapers, themes and animations for this event. Customers can simply visit http://mobile.weyak.ae from their handsets to browse the portal for free or buy any content of their liking.

Football fans and viewers in the UAE can also choose from a collection of the 2010 World Cup songs available on Etisalat’s Greetune portal for their mobile phones. These include the popular tunes by Shakira, Akon (Oh Africa), Nancy Ajram (the official Arabic song) and many others. Etisalat customers can simply visit http://etisalat.ae/portal/greetune to subscribe and select from the collection.

To keep up the spirit of this sporting event, Etisalat, as ‘Telecom Partners, also brings to its customers the chance to come together with their families and friends in supporting their favorite teams at the special live screening tents set up at The Stadium (The Walk, Dubai) and Meydan, Dubai. Etisalat has also set up HD and 3D TV demos at Etisalat outlets in malls across UAE for customers to experience and enjoy watching the World Cup in high quality.
