Epson Introduces High Speed 24-Dot Matrix Printer In Middle East

Published Jun 14, 2010

Epson has announced the Middle East launch of the LQ-2190 dot matrix printer, which is the improved replacement for the successful Epson LQ-2180. Printing up to 576 cps (characters per second), up to 15 million characters per coloured ribbon and 400 million characters per print head, the high speed and high capacity of the LQ-2190 make it extremely efficient. Installation and operation are easy with three paper trays and a parallel and USB interface.
As a robust 24-dot matrix printer, the LQ-2190 is suitable for tough ambient conditions, which are common in logistics businesses or in industrial manufacturing for example. The MTBF (mean time between failures) is 20,000 hours of operation. Also, the new dot matrix printer can produce up to five carbon copies in addition to the original in one printing operation.

The LQ-2190 has two paper tractors as standard. The print trays can be fitted at the front, rear or below and the appliance runs on continuous paper and paper rolls – or manually on individual sheets. As well as a standard parallel and USB interface, network connection is available as an option.

Khalil El Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, “Compared with other print technologies, dot matrix printing has a range of advantages, for instance, it can print carbon copies and is not affected by external factors. Moreover, these printers are quick and the associated printing costs are also low. Dot matrix printers are ideally suited for offices and companies which have huge printing requirements, especially logistics firms and industrial manufacturing units, making the launch of the LQ-2190 extremely significant in the Middle East market, which is a base for a large number of logistics companies.”
