Indemaj Thanks Alabbar For Unforgettable Experience

Published Jun 16, 2010

INDEMAJ, an independent organisation under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday put on a show at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre at Mall of the Emirates as a ‘thank you’ to Mr. Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties, for his personal invitation to the children of INDEMAJ to visit the top of the world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa.

INDEMAJ, along with the Dubai Community Health Centre, dedicated the show to Mr. Alabbar for his ongoing support of children with disabilities and their families. The show featured a performance by children and adolescents associated with INDEMAJ, representing urban and rural communities across the UAE. Keeping in sync with INDEMAJ’s slogan ‘Together We Can’, the show emphasized the importance of partnerships and joint efforts to break barriers and enrich lives of UAE citizens, particularly children.

“A personal invite from Mr. Alabbar himself to visit one of Dubai’s most fascinating landmarks as his special guests is not an opportunity that one comes by every day,” said Mrs. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Vice-Chairperson of INDEMAJ. “We came up with the idea of this show to give the children a chance to personally thank Mr. Alabbar and express just how much his kind gesture meant to them.”

The visit gave 126 children and adolescents, all of whom live in remote locations across the UAE, the opportunity to view, first-hand, history rising across the Emirate of Dubai as well as take part in an experience that will be remembered for years to come.

INDEMAJ holds education at its core thus encouraging students to participate and contribute to a future of progress and prosperity. The organisation’s vision is in line with the leadership of the UAE which ensures that all children, including those with special needs, are provided the opportunity to reach their full potentials. INDEMAJ seeks to achieve this vision by supporting the development of inclusive quality education in all UAE Government Schools, with a special focus on schools in rural areas.
