UAE Growing Focus On Efficiency Drives Local Enterprise Application Software Market, Says Sage Software

Published Jun 23, 2010

The expansion of the enterprise application software (EAS) market in the UAE, which is underscored by its multi-million dollar expenditure on software and license maintenance in the recent years, is being driven by the growing focus of local companies on business efficiency, said Sage Software, the leading global supplier of ERP, CRM and HRM solutions to medium and large organisations. With aims to leverage the opportunities within the local education, healthcare and government sectors – verticals that are poised to be the fastest growing EAS spenders within the next five years – the company recently hosted a seminar on its industry-leading business management software in Sharjah, UAE. The event was attended by 30 CIOs and top-level IT officials from leading companies based in the UAE.

As the second largest EAS market in the Gulf – behind only Saudi Arabia, and with a software spend that is expected to cross USD 559 million in 2010, the UAE is a key market for Sage Software, which has grown from offering desktop accounting packages to full-blown ERP and CRM solutions, claiming as much as a 30-40 per cent market share in the UAE in its product niches. Targeting the unique and ever-changing requirements of UAE organisations amidst the growing demand for products, the seminar in Sharjah highlighted how the ‘Sage Accpac Enterprise Resource Planning’ (ERP) system can help companies optimise resources from customer-facing systems to back-office processes. A demonstration was also conducted on the accounting and operations system’s capacity to help create a perfect, lasting accounting infrastructure by implementing only the modules they need at the moment, while providing an opportunity to build their financial system over time.

“The growing dependence of UAE businesses on enterprise application software is indicative of the market’s maturity and strategic approach towards the management of resources and automation of processes,” said Vikram Suri, Managing Director, Sage Software. “The success of our most recent seminar verifies this, and demonstrates the zealous interest of local companies in adopting EAS to drive their own growth. In line with this, we are planning to invest in further initiative to help UAE businesses better equipped to respond to changing market conditions through our ERP, CRM and HRM solutions.”

The ‘Sage Accpac Enterprise Resource Planning’ (ERP) system is a sophisticated, robust accounting and operations system comprised of a unique combination of powerful analysis tools, including ERP, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), fixed asset management and business intelligence functionality, which provide employees in sales, service, finance, operations and management with an integrated full view of business operations. In addition, Sage Software also highlighted ‘ERP X3 v6’ – the newest version of ‘Sage ERP X3’, its flagship ERP solution for mid-sized and large businesses. Designed to help companies achieve cost and time savings, full interoperability among dispersed teams and customer experience improvement, the solution boasts of multi-currency, multi-country, and multi-legislation functionality, and is available in seven languages: English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

“We continue to achieve inspiring success stories with the implementation of our business management software suite for leading regional organisation, the latest being the successful deployment of ‘Sage CRM’ for the support call centre of Al Rostamani, and ‘Sage Accpac ERP’ for Dubai Business Advisors. With the UAE’s education, healthcare and government sectors expected to be the fastest-growing among EAS spenders over the coming five years, we are planning to undertake major expansion initiatives targeting these industries,” concluded Reggie Fernandes, Sales Manager - Gulf Region, Sage Software.
