English Premier League Football Comes Exclusively To Qtel’s Mozaic TV+

Published Jul 26, 2010

Every match of the English Premier League (EPL) football will be available exclusively on Mozaic TV+ from August, thanks to a major agreement between Qtel and Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC).

The incredible offer will make the world’s most exciting league available in homes across Qatar for just QR35 a month for a one-year subscription for all Qtel Mozaic TV+ customers. Mozaic TV+ will be the only service in Qatar providing coverage of the EPL, along with a host of special features and benefits for Qtel customers.

The broadcasting deal means that fans in Qatar with Mozaic TV+ will be able to subscribe to all the action including exclusive access to live coverage of all 380 games, along with 24/7 programming featuring previews, reviews and analysis when the world’s most exciting league kicks off on 14 August 2010.

With interest in football at an all-time high in Qatar, thanks to the recent World Cup and widespread support for Qatar’s 2022 Bid, executives anticipate huge demand for the service.

Ricky Ghai, Executive Director, Digital Media, at ADMC, said: “Qatar is a nation that loves football and this deal makes it easier for fans in the country to watch the best-ever English Premier League coverage next season.”

“Qatar is bidding for the World Cup and that shows the passion they have for the game. We are confident they will be delighted with what we have in store for them next season.”

Qtel is one of biggest sponsors of sport in Qatar, and has provided year-round support for soccer in particular.

Waleed Al Sayed, Executive Director, Customer Services, Qtel, said: “Qtel believes that sport brings people together, and we’re determined to offer the widest choice in matches and events for fans to follow. The English Premier League is one of the most exciting competitions in the world, so bringing coverage of every match to Qatar is a real coup for Qtel.”

The agreement with Qtel comes after ADMC announced its distribution strategy to make English Premier League available in the MENA region via several subscription platforms, including IPTV, high-definition set-top box, and streaming via broadband Internet.

The EPL 2010/2011 season kicks off in mid-August 2010. ADMC announced in July 2009 that it had acquired the exclusive regional rights for three consecutive seasons, 2010/2011, 2011/2012 and 2012/2013.

The English Premier League (EPL) consists of 20 football clubs and is regarded as the world's best league football competition. ADMC has secured the live and exclusive television and digital broadcast rights for the EPL 2010-2013 seasons. The games will be available to viewers across the region on encrypted Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya Channels which will be accessible via Mozaic TV+ in Qatar.
