Samsung Announces Record Sales of Smartphones Worldwide

Samsung Electronics, a leader in manufacturing smartphones and mobile devices around the world, has recently announced it has achieved record sales for Samsung Galaxy S and Wave smartphone, achieving one million units each in the first few weeks of their launch. Regionally, the first shipment of the Galaxy S phones has already sold out and the next batch, which is expected to arrive in August, is set to sell out just as quickly.

Sandeep Saihgal, general manager of mobile phones at Samsung Gulf Electronics, said: "The record sales figures we have seen since the release of the innovative, user-friendly and fully-equipped Galaxy S proves its worth in the smartphone market. More than one million units was sold worldwide within three weeks of the Galaxy S launch, across 32 countries and 44 mobile service providers, consumers are confident that the smartphone's build quality, speed and capabilities are second to none."

The Galaxy S is designed to provide immersive, intelligent and integrated experiences, with the power to enrich people's lives through best-in-class services and technologies. The smartphone allows users around the world to experience the "Smart Life" which Samsung anticipates will shift the way that consumers view smartphones and how they interact with them in their daily lives.

The smartphone, which has recently won a number of awards, including "Recommended Product" by T-Break online, and a five-star rating from Stuff Middle East magazine for its crystal clear display, is Android -powered and incorporates a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen. It also contains a 1 GHz application processor that enables vibrant HD videos, and rich augmented reality content through Layar Reality Browser. The "Social Hub" provides always-on social networks connectivity allowing users to enjoy communications with their friends, colleagues, and families whenever they want and wherever they are.

The Galaxy S immerses users in a world of rich multimedia. The large 4-inch Super AMOLED display delivers unrivalled screen quality, with less reflection, free viewing angles and super-fast touch-response. The mDNIe (mobile Digital Natural Image engine) a technology used in Samsung's best-selling LCD and LED TVs boosts an even sharper and crisper viewing experience for photos, videos, and e-books.

It creates a perfect environment to record, edit and play HD video, to browse the Internet, and to read your favorite e-books. A variety of Google applications from Android Market (applicable in Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar not applicable in UAE) allows users to even more extend the benefits and excitement of smartphone experience.
