R&M Takes Over Its Portuguese Partner

The Swiss cabling solutions specialist Reichle & De-Massari AG (R&M, www.rdm.com) has taken over its Portuguese sales partner LanCom Communicações, Lda. Through this acquisition, R&M aims to strengthen its own brand presence in Portugal and consolidate its business relations, in particular with carriers. “Our partner enjoys excellent contacts with network operators and telecommunications companies. R&M has the operational and financial strength to intensify the development of this market. We complement each other perfectly,” explains CEO Martin Reichle with regard to the takeover, which was completed on July 1. The acquisition will allow R&M to take advantage of synergy effects and to be even closer to its customers.
With its head office in Carcavelos near Lisbon, LanCom Communicações, Lda will become part of the new R&M Portugal subsidiary. R&M will retain the services of the four employees including the management team, with António Vinagre assuming the role of Manager and Luis Alves the role of Sales and Marketing Director. These two men founded LanCom in 2007 and ensured the quick and successful development of the company. “António Vinagre and Luis Alves are outstanding experts. They enjoy an excellent reputation on the Portuguese market,” says Martin Reichle.
The new Portuguese R&M subsidiary will extend the main sales office and create new jobs. The aim is to enlarge the warehouse and increase the service level for customers on the carrier market. In future, it will be possible to provide tailor-made customer solutions on-site. The existing LanCom range is still available. Furthermore, R&M intends to become a part of the structured office and building cabling market.
