Symantec To Hold Vision 2010 Customer Conference In Barcelona

Published Aug 11, 2010

Symantec Corp (NASDAQ:SYMC) is to hold its second Vision 2010 conference for customers and partners from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at CCIB in Barcelona from 5-7 October. The conference will focus on how companies can take control of their information both from a security and storage perspective. The conference program will also feature keynotes from President and CEO Enrique Salem, and C-level speakers from Symantec and its partners, including Dell, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard and Intel.

“This is a perfect opportunity for enterprises to hear how they can improve their information management strategy and separate the `wheat from the chaff` and start to confidently reduce storage consumption and minimize risk from keeping everything, forever”, said John Brigden, senior vice president EMEA, Symantec. “For the first time since the acquisitions customers can also explore the expanded encryption portfolio. Security Management and SaaS are two other industry hot issues and we will be helping customers understand how Symantec can help them implement secured and managed systems and services effectively in their environment.”

“We look forward to hosting customers and partners from all over the region. We will have some of our leading experts in IT security, data storage and information management available to share opinions, provide advice and recommend best practices,” he added. “It will bring together under one roof the world’s leading experts in IT security, data storage and information management.”

Around 120 individual working sessions and 48 hands-on laboratories will demonstrate how security, managed services, storage and system management are converging, and how today's IT concepts such as cloud computing, Green IT, SaaS and virtualisation can be integrated effectively with customers' IT infrastructure. A large exhibition area will showcase products and solutions from Symantec and leading names in the IT industry. Delegates will also be able to achieve certification on Symantec products onsite and there will be an extensive exhibition area featuring products and solutions from Symantec.

Keynote speakers will include Enrique Salem, Symantec chairman and chief executive officer, Dr. Rolf Strotmann, Vice President Enterprise Server & Software at Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Pierre Bruno, Solutions General Manager Large Enterprise Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Dell, Hewlett Packard and Intel`s Simon Holland, Technical Director, Sales and Marketing Group Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Bear Grylls will conclude the conference with a keynote highlighting his own experiences on overcoming challenges and living dreams. Grylls is a popular adventurer and entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest, aged only 23.
