Dubai Internet City’s ‘Excellence Series’ Offers Tips To Companies Aiming To Stay Ahead Of Competition

Published Aug 23, 2010

If you want to stay ahead of the competition online, you need to do more than make your web presence search engine optimized. That was one of the key messages to come out of the latest edition of the Excellence Series, a monthly workshop organized by Dubai Internet City (DIC), a member of TECOM Investments, drawing inspiration from renowned business and motivational speakers on topics relating to entrepreneurship and business.

The sixth session titled "Search Engine Marketing and why SEO alone won’t boost your bottom line” brought a large number of executives across the industry sector to truly understand the deeper nature of search engine marketing and how it can boost a company’s performance.

Fahd Bizzari, online marketing expert and founder of UAE-based Bizzari Consulting told delegates that if companies in the region are looking to generate new customers and stay ahead of competitors, it is important for them to understand and satisfy customer requirements.

Bizzari said “Companies must accept that search engines are a fundamental tool to help people make informed and educated decisions before buying or finding potential vendors.

“Companies need to be more focused on creating richer content for their websites. Not only will this make a company’s business more credible but it will also enhance their brand and reputation as one that has the know-how and experience in their respective industry.

“The Excellence Series is a great platform for sharing specialized knowledge with professionals who are eager to learn and I, personally look forward to attending the next event as a delegate.”

The monthly Excellence Series sessions hosted by Dubai Internet City, the region’s largest managed ICT business park, witness a variety of distinguished speakers deliberating on key topics relating to business, best practices, case studies, and personal growth.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Director Business Development, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, said: “As the economy gradually recovers, members of the business community are keen to find organic ways to come together, learn and exchange ideas on how they can improve their business performance.

“DIC’s Excellence Series fills a gap in the market; allowing smart and savvy individuals to pick up techniques and tips from one another without any extra cost. Whether it’s about finding ways to motivate employees through boosting morale, giving your office a ‘green’ makeover or even tips to create a more effective online marketing campaign for your product or service, Dubai Internet City sets up opportunities for its business partners to network, learn and share experiences that have the potential to become profitable business revenue streams.”
The next module of the Excellence Series is scheduled to take place on 30 August 2010.

Established in 2000 Dubai Internet City serves as a business community dedicated to assisting technology companies across the industry value chain to set up business operations in the region. From software developers, Internet and multimedia, networking and telecommunication service providers, DIC currently hosts more than 1,300 companies in the technology business park.
