Nawras Completes First Stage Of Caring Nawras Goodwill Journey 6

Published Aug 25, 2010
Caring volunteers with the Nawras Goodwill Journey 6 have completed the first stage of this year’s mission by visiting the Al Wafa Centre at Salalah. The team presented donations of ovens, air conditioners, refrigerators, televisions and other items to help improve the daily lives of those in need as well as supplying various pieces of medical equipment and giving toys to the children.

This visit followed similar donations made earlier in the week at women’s associations and social development centres in Quriyat, Sur, Jallan Bani Buali and Duqm.

Team members reported that they felt privileged to participate in the Goodwill Journey and expected that this positive and touching experience would spur them on to get engaged in further charitable work in the future.

Every year, for the last five years, Nawras Goodwill Journey convoys have travelled in excess of 29,000 kilometres to visit those attending and working at more than 70 different charitable organisations. Caring Nawras people have also visited schools and hospitals in the different wilyats and erected shelters, buildings and children’s play areas.

Crucial to the lasting success of each Goodwill Journey is the time that Nawras invests in understanding and accommodating the specific needs of each group of people to be visited. Every detail is taken into account to ensure that the meticulous planning leads to all donations leaving a meaningful and lasting impression on the recipients. The achievements of the journey clearly show how much Nawras cares for those in need, not just in Muscat but countrywide.

The Nawras Goodwill Journey 6 will continue with its mission to bring happiness and help to those most in need as the convoy continues next week.
