Published Jul 16, 2009

WHO?

As part of Intel’s continuous drive for IT enablement and growth in the Arab world, Intel Egypt appoints Eng. Taha Khalifa as new Country Manager for Egypt, while Dr. Khaled Elamrawi takes on the role of Regional Director for Enterprise Solutions in the Middle East. Eng. Mohamed Amer has been appointed Country Manager for the Levant and North Africa region.

WHY?

The change comes as the company is up leveling the Intel Middle East region in order to embrace new opportunities.

The region will be split into Egypt separately, Levant and North African into two distinct regions; Egypt as a standalone sub territory with Levant and North Africa as another separate sub territory within the larger Middle East region.

This will help the Egyptian team extend more dedicated support to local customers and augment the IT footprint in Levant and North Africa.

His experience in driving growth in emerging markets through World Ahead and local industry enabling programs will pave the way for stronger growth in the Egyptian market.

During his three year tenure as Intel Egypt, Levant & North Africa Country Manager, Dr. Elamrawi and the Intel team have achieved great strides to grow the local PC market and support the local industry.

This included the establishment of the Platform Definition Centre currently delivering education solutions to the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, enablement of local assembly and development programs, driving youth and education initiatives with the governments and pioneering into new growth markets including Libya and Algeria to help bridge the digital divide.

Khaled’s new role will focus primarily on growing Intel’s enterprise business in the Middle East.
