Western Digital Confirms Their Commitment To The Channel At Driving Business 2009

Published Jul 19, 2009
Western Digital hosted its debut Driving Business event on the 21st June at the Atlantis Dubai and welcomed over one hundred resellers and distributors from the UAE to participate in an innovative workshop.

More than just another product presentation, the Driving Business event was aimed to enlighten resellers and distributors about the current hard drive market which will in turn increase the company’s profitability.

Resellers and distributors present at the event were provided with important industry/market knowledge as well as information on consumer behavior and product differentiation which will help them to pitch the right product to their customers.

At the event, Western Digital discussed the company’s extensive product offering, while displaying worldwide hard drive market knowledge as well as their position within it.

The keynote speaker at the event R. Narayan, Senior Editor for Reseller World Middle East encouraged the hard drive market as a whole to revive itself in the current financial climate stating, “We need to face realities of the slowdown upfront and yet show resilience to overcome the challenges in the marketplace through strategic reviews of incumbent go to market models as well as innovative selling methods. Also, don’t just keep waiting for the turnaround; be with the forces driving it. Component resellers need to shrewdly work their existing customer segments and create win-win situations through a clever mix of marketing promotions”.

The Driving Business event is part of WD’s continued dedication to building strong relationships with their channel partners in the region and is a reflection of their leadership in the storage space.

Ultimately, this event helped gain the confidence of existing partners while gaining the interest of new ones.

“We believe that our partners are our main strength in this region; both distribution and channel. We will make every effort to help them increase profitability by empowering them with knowledge, skills and support”, says Saif Khwaja Sales Director, Western Digital, Middle East & Africa.

Western Digital strongly values its business partners in the Middle East and their commitment to the WD brand.

In 2009, Western Digital was recognized as ‘Components Vendor of the Year’ at the 2009 Channel Middle East Awards, was awarded ‘Choice of Channel 2009’ in the Storage Vendor of the Year awards and was named ‘EMEA Peripherals Vendor of the Year 2009’.

These awards testify to Western Digital’s commitment to supporting the channel and facilitating the success of its partners.
