Sony Gulf FZE, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation, announced the Middle East debut of its new 3D LED BRAVIA® televisions, the HX800, NX815/710 and LX900 series, boasting designs that exude a unique visual appeal and minimalist style to blend functionality and aesthetics into any living space.
Available in 40-inch, 46-inch, 52-inch, 55-inch and 60-inch screen sizes, the new BRAVIA models introduce the next generation home entertainment with Full HD 3D and Wi-Fi built into an impressive Monolithic Design.
Osamu Miura, Managing Director, Sony Gulf FZE, said: “The new BRAVIA 3D LED TVs offer a window into Sony’s immersive 3D-world ambience. They hold the key to the most exciting home entertainment experience we have ever created. Given that Sony is a pioneer in the technology that is used to generate original 3D content worldwide, our BRAVIA 3D LED TV is a must-have innovation for every consumer to take home.”
The new models feature a flush screen surface mated to high quality materials and a superior finish to make a lifestyle statement, whether switched on or off. The BRAVIA LX900 and HX815/710 series come with an option to recline the screen at a six-degree angle – ideal for viewing from low, contemporary furniture and for adding a sense of space to any room.
The Monolithic Design theme has been extended by Sony across its entire suite of home entertainment products launched in 2010. Apart from the new BRAVIA series, Sony’s Blu-ray Disc™ players and Home Cinema systems are all designed to create one seamless home entertainment experience, even in terms of design.
With the three new BRAVIA models, a viewer can simply connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi and explore a huge choice of content and services. There is also a whole world of free, on-demand videos to explore from sharing websites such as YouTube™, and Dailymotion™.
New videos and services can be quickly accessed and streamed direct to the new BRAVIA TVs without the hassle of connecting to a PC or watching on a cramped screen.
The online functions of the BRAVIA HX800, NX815/710 and LX900 are organised into categories that can be quickly accessed using the award-winning XrossMediaBar™ (XMB™) TV menu. Favourite videos can be bookmarked and top picks shared with family members and friends at the touch of a button.
Perhaps the most remarkable technological feature of the new full-HD 3D LED TVs in the BRAVIA range is their picture quality. The HX800, NX815/710 and LX900 incorporate Sony’s new full High Definition 3D technology to return sharp, vibrant and detailed three dimensional images. Using high frame rates of 200Hz (100Hz in BRAVIA NX710) and Active Shutter glass technology, the 3D compatible BRAVIA TVs display incredibly realistic depth and vivid 3D pictures.
In addition, the Advanced Motionflow™ 200Hz PRO technology and Image Blur Reduction technologies in the BRAVIA HX800, NX815 and LX900 deliver four times more image frames than conventional 50Hz TVs for ultra-smooth and realistic movie action, through the use of innovative backlight blinking to bring a real cinematic experience into the living room. The BRAIVA NX815 allows users to view clearer fast-paced movies, sports and games with its Motionflow™ 200Hz refresh rate. This advanced motion processing technology delivers unbelievably smooth, crisp and fluid pictures.
The BRAVIA NX815/710 and BRAVIA LX900 series feature Eco Settings including an Energy Saving Switch and Edge-lit LED backlight technology that help reduce power consumption while improving performance against conventional CCFL backlight TVs. The Light Sensor in both TVs automatically adjusts the picture’s brightness to the light available, lowering power consumption even under dimly lit conditions.
The BRAVIA HX800 uses specially designed Intelligent Dynamic full LED screens with optimised panels and the latest LED backlighting technology for enhanced colour intensity and an incredible Giga contrast – to reflect the purest whites and deepest blacks a viewer would expect to see only from a cinema seat.
The BRAVIA NX815/710 integrates the BRAVIA Engine™ 3 fully digital video processor, producing breathtaking picture quality with reduced visual noise, enhanced colour and overall image detail enabling viewers to enjoy sharp, vibrant pictures.
The BRAVIA LX900 series includes an Intelligent Presence Sensor with face detection for children. The new Distance Alert feature uses a sensor to ensure a suitable TV watching distance. If a child moves within one-meter of the TV, the picture is automatically turned off and an alarm sounds to prevent them from getting too close. The BRAVIA LX900 switches the TV to Picture Off Mode when it cannot detect faces within a certain range of the TV. The TV’s viewing-position control automatically optimises not only the left and right sound balance, but also image visibility to suit the viewer’s position.
The new BRAVIA models are currently available in the UAE at Jumbo Electronics showrooms and all other major retail consumer electronics outlets.
