EGYPTAIR Selects SAP Business Solutions To Improve Financial Visibility And Optimize Route Profitability

EGYPTAIR announced that it has selected SAP, the world’s leading provider of business software, to support the airline’s growth and expansion plans by supplying solutions that improve the company’s financial visibility and optimize route profitability.
EGYPTAIR, established in Cairo in 1932, serves 52 countries across five continents with both passenger and cargo operations. The airline aims to increase its fleet from 67 aircraft at present to 72 by 2014, and requires timely decision making, strong control of revenues and costs, and cascaded strategy across all the levels of the organization for the airline to reach this goal.
As EGYPTAIR continues to expand its services, the airline wants to maximize returns on its routes by striking the right balance between demand, load, and yield with respect to its fleet. The SAP implementation will give EGYPTAIR the latest decision-making tools required to fulfill its objectives and combat existing issues such as the lack of process-approach system with the ability to get route profitability in a timely manner, no standard process and tools for cost allocations, fragmented data in non-integrated systems, no capability for accurate profitability analysis or strategic budgeting and planning.

The SAP implementation project is aimed to transform all finance areas at EGYPTAIR by improving clarity and increasing executive insight through improved decision making and control functions across business processes including planning, forecasting, inventory management, business intelligence, cost allocation, real time route analysis, and planning and simulation.

EGYPTAIR will implement SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and SAP BusinessObjects solutions for analytics, budgeting and route profitability while streamlining finance. The SAP ERP software includes a host of horizontal solutions, such as finance, materials management, and work clearance management. SAP BusinessObjects solutions provide companies with comprehensive functionality for business intelligence, information management, and enterprise performance management. These flexible solutions can be customized for specific sectors such as the airline industry.
