Lasercard Corporation Enhances Presence In Middle East Through New Partnership With Leading Consultant Amr Shawki

(BUSINESS WIRE/Me NewsWire)-- LaserCard Corporation (NASDAQ:LCRD)(www.lasercard.com), a leading provider of secure ID solutions, has engaged leading digital identity consultant Amr Shawki, founder and chairman of Egytec Engineering Co, to support LaserCard’s business development activities in the Middle East. The partnership will focus on government credential programs including national citizen and foreign resident IDs, government employee IDs, health IDs, student IDs, e-Passports and vehicle registration and driver licenses.

Mr. Shawki’s team will attend Gitex Technology Week in Dubai, UAE, October 17-21 in partnership with LaserCard’s Challenge Card Design (CCD) subsidiary, which will be exhibiting at Booth H2-7, Hall 2, German Pavilion.

Mr. Shawki is a leading organizer of specialized events in the Middle East and Africa dedicated to identity management, biometrics, RFID, and information security. Mr. Shawki also serves as the founder and chairman of the Egyptian Association for Smart Cards Industry and Applications (EASCIA), the first association for smart cards in the region. In addition, he is the founding chairman of the Arab Electrical Power and Energy Association (AEPEA).

LaserCard supplies cards for large-scale government ID programs, including the Saudi Arabia national ID program, the new U.S. Green Card program, multiple programs in Italy, the Angola national ID card program, the international professional driver license program in Hungary and vehicle registration programs for three state authorities in India.
