Thuraya To Attract Vertical Market Segments With Innovative Satcom Solutions At GITEX 2010

Thuraya, the world leading mobile satellite operator will be a main telecom exhibitor during the region’s largest ICT event, GITEX 2010. With a theme focused on vertical markets Thuraya is showcasing a variety of specialized data, maritime, aviation and voice solutions all designed to meet the needs of the Company’s growing customer base in the broadcast media, defense, NGOs, maritime and oil and gas sectors.
As part of its display at Zabeel Hall Thuraya will be providing live demonstrations of its cutting-edge portfolio of products allowing customers to experience their advanced capabilities first hand. Users will be able to view live video-streaming feeds via the world’s smallest satellite broadband solutions, Thuraya IP as well as internet browsing. This is in addition to Thuraya Marine and the world’s toughest satellite phone, Thuraya XT which appealed to the satcom industry since its launch last year.
“GITEX is always a significant event for Thuraya where we look forward to inviting commercial partners, customers, application developers to our stand to interact with the team and engage in fruitful business discussions as well as establish invigorating relationships,” said Thuraya’s Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Ali Al Mazrooei.
The Company will also be exhibiting several innovations such as tailor-made maritime solutions Seagull 5000 and Comtech maritime terminal designed for broadband use. Additionally, Thuraya will be showcasing its Aviation narrowband unit alongside the Company’s sleek handhelds.
“This year we have new satcom offerings that are specifically designed for vertical market segments which reveal Thuraya’s customer-centric dedication to these sectors. We have expanded our range of products and services and GITEX is the ideal forum to unveil our innovations,” added Mr. Al Mazrooei.
He also elaborated that visitors to the stand will be able to appreciate the progressive features of Thuraya IP and the XT handheld through the live demos.
