The Digital Boom Organized By Universal Media Egypt In Cooperation With Digital Republic, Google And Nielsen

Universal Media Egypt, one of the largest media companies in the Egypt, organized a conference under the name The Digital Boom on the 29th of September in cooperation with Egypt’s major website developer Digital Republic, and together with Google and Nielsen Media Research. The purpose of the conference is to shed light on the technology revolution in the fields of media and marketing from a local perspective.

“The concept behind the conference came from the organizing and participating companies’ faith in the importance of supporting the concept of modern media and advertising and how to use digital media to deliver messages to the Egyptian consumer,” Said Dina Hashem, Universal Media Egypt’s Managing Director.

Dina Hashem indicated that “this one day conference, which was organized for the first time in Egypt, was initiated by Universal Media to respond to questions in the minds of media and marketing companies interested in digital media, and addresses concerns regarding the optimal investment of this technology in the development of media tools to upport the marketing industry for major global products.”

Dina Hashem also added that “use of the internet and mobile technology has become one of the most important means to exchange information and facilitate access to target markets, especially youth who represent the largest segment targeted in the design of advertising and public relations campaigns.”

Mobinil and Coca-Cola Egypt participated in the conference through their experience on how to utilize this technology, and discussed how they managed to convey a new image for their products through the use of digital media.

The conference, which was attended by major public relations and advertising firms in Egypt, witnessed participation from many professionals and experts in digital technology who showcased the positive impact it had on the Egyptian advertising market.

Regarding the use of digital technology in newspapers, Dina Hashem said “the independent print media’s experience, such as that of Al Masry Al Youm and Al Youm Al Sabea, is considered another successful example of how to utilize digital technology in delivering advertising messages effectively to the intended target.”
