NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced branded networking and storage products, has announced (October 17, 2010) the launch of its latest line of green IT networking products during the opening of GITEX Technology Week 2010 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The leading IT network and storage provider will highlight its latest line of environmentally friendly offerings under its five product categories, which also include wireless controllers (WC7520), NAS Storages (ReadyNAS 4200 and ReadyNAS 3100), L3 Switches (GSM7328S-200EUS) and Security Product (UTM50), Green Power lines, Green Prosafe Plus Switches, Green Storage and the Green Router and Gateway during the show, which will run until October 21. NETGEAR’s participation in this year’s GITEX will not only allow the company to increase its current number of partners and distributors but will also highlight the benefits of utilizing its current line of eco-friendly products to key regional customers and prospects.

The launch also includes the latest models in the ReadyNAS storage lines; the ReadyNAS ULTRA, ReadyNAS NVX Diskless, ReadyNAS PRO Diskless, ReadyNAS 3100 and the ReadyNAS 4200. The ReadyNAS NV+, which has been designed specifically for power users and home offices, offers robust high end features like Gigabit Ethernet, hardware RAID, system monitoring capabilities and a built-in back up. All ReadyNAS storage systems offer multiple back up layers that can be customised to fit the needs of the user and also feature a ReadyNAS Vault option that allows users to move files and folders to an offsite secure data center for disaster recovery. Other green products unveiled at GITEX 2010 include a new power line adapter kit and new switches such as the Smart Gigabit Switches and Unmanaged Switches. Further, the company has also announced the launch of its latest line of routers and gateways like the new Wireless N Router, 3G Wireless Router and a Wireless Router with a built-in DSL mode.

“Acting as a gateway to the Middle East’s largest ICT platform, GITEX continues to be the ideal venue to introduce and launch the latest in new technologies and products. Participating in this year’s event has allowed us to introduce and showcase our latest line of eco-friendly products to essential businesses in the Middle East," said Ahmad Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, NETGEAR Middle East. "These new line of green products complement our commitment towards developing environment friendly networking and storage products. Our thrust towards environmental protection and preservation has prompted us to also adopt more eco-friendly measures in our operations like reducing the use of hazardous materials to protect the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the environment. Moreover, our offer of lifetime warranty for our product range makes investing into our green technologies cost effective both in the short and long term.”

NETGEAR remains steadfast in its commitment to help in the global effort to save the environment by providing its customers with high quality products that are environmentally sound while also maintaining operations in an environmentally responsible manner. In line with this commitment, the company continues to develop innovative new products that increase energy efficiency, use fewer resources and meet environmental standards. The leading IT network and storage provider has also attached a new benchmark logo for its green line of products, the NETGEAR Green logo, which highlights the company’s commitment to smarter, greener products that help businesses and homes use less energy and save on costs.

“Today’s businesses have become more environmentally conscious of the products that they use in their day-to-day operations, resulting in an increased demand for green or eco-friendly products. Using green products gives these companies the security that they are helping out in the bid to save the environment and leaving less of a carbon footprint to worry about. NETGEAR understands this demand and has exerted continuous efforts in trying to develop and produce products that are not only green but also provides high quality performance and service - traits that are synonymous with the NETGEAR brand,” concluded Zeidan.
