Published Oct 18, 2010

In Gitex Dubai 2010, held from 17-21 October, ITWorx, the Middle East's leading software professional services firm and the global expert in e-learning products, will announce the launch of the newest version of ITWorx CLG (Connected Learning Gateway), and will host a seminar to showcase the innovative capabilities of the e-learning platform that best serve the pedagogic needs of K12 private and public education sectors in the region.

During the event, ITWorx will be launching version 2.0 of CLG, an engaging, multilingual social learning platform that is intuitive for teachers, attractive for students, inviting for parents, decision-enabler for principals and easy-to-handle for administrators. The new version makes e-learning accessible for all in classrooms, at homes and on hand-held devices.

Along the sidelines of this highly anticipated regional ICT event, ITWorx will be holding a seminar to take the audience in a virtual tour through the key features of the new platform that sets the idea of social networking, mobile learning, and cloud capabilities as a pillar for advanced e-learning methods and an incentive factor for all education stakeholders (teachers, students, parents, school administration … etc).

We are very proud to launch this new and enhanced version of CLG, which brings worldwide latest trends of e-learning to the education sector in the region," Medhat Karam, Education General Manager, ITWorx, said, commenting on this new innovation by his company.

Karam added, "CLG 2.0 presents better features, attractive designs, and first and foremost, a huge range of social networking tool and mobile applications that position it as the perfect platform to guarantee the engagement of students and their participation in their very own self-paced learning. Social networking, is in the heart of CLG, which certainly makes learning and teaching more fun and eliminates the traditional dull aura affiliated with the process."

With instant status updates, news-feeds, comments, wall-to-wall communication, multimedia attachments, chats, blogs, audio and video-conferencing, and mobile notifications and alerts, CLG 2.0 makes education more interactive for all. Teachers get to communicate with their colleagues and share news and material, while students interact with their school buddies as well as the teachers, and the parents get to keep an eye on all of that, maintaining an open communication channel with the teachers and school board.

The new scalable and customizable platform is easily deployed and installed in a timely manner and immensely facilitates all traditional daily activities necessary for any educational institution to manage students and up to principles and higher management. ITWorx also provides special training and system adoption program with regular school visits and follow-up to ensure that organizations have fully grasped the scope of tools and spectrum of abilities provided by this advanced platform to maximize its benefits and value-added services to the education community.

Our aim is to spread the use of user-friendly and technologically advanced education programs in the region. We are here to safely and smoothly hand-guide private and public K12 schools and help them attain quality and cost-effective education solutions that achieve their visions of quick and easy transformation into e-learning; which is exactly the mission of CLG," said Magdy ElKomy, Education Business Development Manager, ITWorx.

CLG 2.0 empowers teachers with effective tools for planning lessons, authoring content, managing attendance, assignments, exams, grades, and behaviors in addition to conducting live lectures and tracking student performance. Students' personlised tools enable creating their own e-Portfolios and individual learning plans, while providing complete academic performance monitoring capabilities to parents. School administrators can easily perform their daily tasks with different school management information systems (MIS), and school management have upper hand in accessing reports, monitoring overall school performance.

The seminar, entitled "Social Learning on the Cloud", will also discuss how schools can leverage cloud technologies and its subscription-based models to access and use the platform full-fledged features. Explaining the value of integrating with Live@edu and mobile-based learning, the seminar will introduce the audience to effective ways of optimizing the values of their e-learning platform.

The seminar will be held on October the 19th, 2010, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm, at ITWorx stand under Microsoft booth, D7-1, Hall 7.
