Canon Middle East, the world-leader in imaging solutions, is unveiling its latest range of top-of-the-line DSLR models in Cairo, Egypt as part of an aggressive push to increase its market share in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The company expects to boost its sales growth in the last quarter of the year with the launch of the latest additions to its world famous EOS series of DSLR cameras: the EOS 60D; and the EOS 1D Mark IV.

“As a global leader in the photo, video and printing business offering cutting-edge technology and unrivalled performance and range, Canon seeks to strengthen its market-leading position in key growth areas such as Egypt. The launch of our new DSLR models will introduce a growing community of photography enthusiasts in the country to the latest in photographic technologies,” said Somesh Adukia, Sales Manager, Canon Middle East

The EOS 60D is designed for those who want to take their skills to the next level by offering a series of high performance and creative features. With enhanced ergonomics, it enables photographers to get creative results. The model also boasts a brand new Vari-angle LCD that enables the photographer to shoot of stills and Full HD movies from almost any angle

Meanwhile, the EOS ID Mark IV delivers a combination of speed, performance, image quality and durability designed to be the ultimate tool for photojournalists and sports/action photographers who absolutely cannot miss a shot.

The launch will be marked by a series of photography workshops for both amateurs and professionals in a specially-designed stand at the Sonesta Hotel and also at City Center Maady. “Our product experts will share invaluable knowledge and insights on DSLR photography for students of American University of Cairo and a cross section of photography enthusiasts of various levels to hone their skills and heighten their passion for photography,” continued Adukia.

Besides the free photography workshops, Canon Middle East is also offering a 20 percent discount on all Canon DSLR products that will be bought during the launch period from 3 to 5 November 2010. In addition, existing Canon camera owners can also have their units inspected in the “Check and Clean Campaign” running simultaneously with the launch event and training sessions.

“Through this campaign, we want our consumers to get the best out of their Canon DSLR cameras by having their units checked and cleaned for optimum performance and, hopefully, for an extended, durable partnership,” Adukia ended.
