The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) has selected SunGard Higher Education, a global provider of education software and services, to support its mandate of developing the national labor force to meet the requirements for technical skills in Kuwait. This new engagement will see all 11 colleges and training institutions under the PAAET stewardship gain access to technology that helps them create and extend a digital campus to help meet the growing needs of 40,000 learners.
PAAET is collaborating with SunGard Higher Education and a local implementation partner in Kuwait to create a digital campus environment which includes SunGard’s Banner Student, Banner Financial Aid and Luminis Platform software solutions. These solutions are tailored to help the institutions streamline their administrative processes and provide enhanced learning resources to students and faculty members. Specifically, a community portal and collaboration platform will be deployed to help PAAET students communicate with faculty members and gain access to learning resources at anytime from any place. Students will be able to search and register for classes by term or date, as well as retrieve relevant data online, while faculty members can easily manage course information, rosters, grading and advise students from a remote location.
Dr. Ahmad Alansari, dean of admission and registrationn, PAAET, said, “Vocation and technical education are critical to our mission to develop high-quality human resources for Kuwait’s public and private sectors. We have looked to SunGard Higher Education to provide the technology that will help us transform our institutions because of its global reputation and regional leadership in technology solutions for higher education.”
“PAAET has a significant role in ensuring that the next generation of Kuwaitis have the capacity in terms of technical skills to meet the increasingly diverse labour needs of the country,” said Mathew Boice, vice president, EMEA and India, SunGard Higher Education. “SunGard Higher Education is proud to support this mission and to provide a platform for long-term and sustainable change within the vocational and training sector in Kuwait.”
