Autodesk, the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building, and media and entertainment markets, has announced the appointment of Hazem Nabil Khaled as the Country Manager for Egypt. The move is in line with Autodesk’s aims to increase focus in Egypt with a much stronger impact through streamlined marketing and distribution activities and by leveraging the leadership of a well-experienced and competent management team. As the new head of the company’s Egypt-based operations, Hazem Nabil Khaled has committed to achieving a structured growth and a solid establishment of Autodesk in the country.
Assigned to lead Autodesk’s Cairo office, Hazem Nabil will focus on growing the business throughout Egypt by promoting the Autodesk brand, as well as focusing on developing the company’s existing channel. Expanding new offerings to new customer segments, enhancing technical support, customer satisfaction, reach and awareness will also be a top priority for the new official. The implementation of an educational or academic approach to aid and stimulate the new generation of design professionals and to enrich Autodesk ties with Egyptian Government by implementing strategic agreements, will also be some of the key focus areas for Hazem Nabil.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Mr. Hazem Nabil Khaled to the Autodesk team. He brings a wealth of sales and marketing experience with him and we are sure that he will be an immediate, valuable and contributing member of our team in the Middle East,” said Ahmad Al Jasim, Regional Manager, Autodesk. “We believe with Hazem’s strong channel knowledge, commendable anti-piracy experience and the great passion to accomplish this challenging feat ahead of him. His good relationship with the Egyptian Government, most valuable decision makers and his repute as a trusted advisor in the IT industry, in addition to his solid engineering and IT background will thoroughly help him in effectively managing our operations in this key market.”
A graduate of Civil Engineering from the Cairo University and with an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST), Hazem Nabil has gathered extensive experience in the region after holding top posts at the Middle East offices of some of the biggest IT players. Among the challenging positions he has assumed within the past 20 years include a stint as the Partner Group Manager at Microsoft Egypt from 2002 until he was appointed to his new position in Autodesk. In addition, he also worked for Oracle Egypt Limited from 1996 to 2002, where he was given three top positions as Territory Manager, Channels and Alliances Manager, and Oracle RDB/Informix Migration Program Manager. Furthermore, Hazem has gained solid training in operations within the realms of both the private and public sectors through his experience in the Cairo offices of BULL Middle East, the Office for Studies and Finance (OSAF) and XEROX Egypt.
“Despite the global financial crisis, I am very optimistic of the future of the Egyptian market due to the stable atmosphere and solid economic status enveloping the country, in addition to the speedy action taken by the Egyptian Government towards encouraging foreign investments. Actions taken by the government are not only limited to the commercial and development aspect of the country, but also concerns regarding the protection of intellectual property rights, thereby leading to the decrease of the software piracy rate from 63 per cent to 60 per cent. Egypt is an attractive zone for IT and communication industry, and I am fully committed to driving the growth of Autodesk in this country” concluded Hazem Nabil.
