The GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators, as well as more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media and entertainment organisations.
“It is a special privilege to be appointed to the GSMA Board, and I am honoured to be able to join this senior body of industry leaders,” commented Dr. Nasser.

“The GSMA Board has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of the mobile communications industry in many ways. A major part of GSMA’s vision is to enable people to readily and affordably connect to the communications services they want, when and where they want. In addition, GSMA has supported the evolution and deployment of the GSM family of technologies, such as LTE, and has played a key role in nurturing the discovery and development of tomorrow’s mobile innovations.

“The Qtel Group fully upholds and supports the GSMA’s long-term vision, and we look forward to contributing as a Board member to help realise this vision,” concluded Dr. Nasser.
