As the end of 2010 draws to a close, industry giant Motorola continues to gain momentum to drive its new products into the Middle East market.
Just last week, Motorola launched FLIPOUT™, an innovative new Smartphone that runs on Android™ 2.1 and which features an innovative square pivot design that opens to reveal a five-row QWERTY keypad with a separate row for numeric keys.
This new smartphone, which features up to seven customizable home screens, live wallpapers, and added security for exchange server users, looks likely to prove a hit particularly with female consumers due to its bright colors, trendy design and optimal web and photo-enabled devices.
Additional multimedia features include a 3MP camera with digital zoom and KODAK PERFECT TOUCH technology for better, brighter pictures and gallery mode for tagging and labeling of photos. Also included are video capture, playback and streaming options along with Bluetooth®1 capabilities for wireless calls and music. FLIPOUT features full Google™ services including Google Search™, Google Maps™, Gmail™ and Google Talk™, Google’s answer to instant messaging.
Also in November the company announced the innovative Motorola DEFY™, a slim, pocket able Android smartphone equipped with a 3.7” high-resolution, scratch-resistant touch screen display that provides edge-to-edge views of websites, photos and videos that will hit stores just as 2011 kicks off.
An Adobe® Flash® Lite®-enabled Web browser and 3.7 inch WVGA screen allow users to view more of the Web than standard browsers. Buyers of the DEFY will also have access to Google services including Google Search, Google Maps and Gmail.
The mobile telecommunications leader also introduced MILESTONE™ ( The Global version of the award winning DROID in the US) and MILESTONE™ XT720 in 2010, the first 8 megapixel Android 2.1-powered phone in the UAE offering customers an enhanced user experience that set new standards for how fast, smart and multi-tasking a modern smartphone should be.
Powered by Android 2.1, the MILESTONE boasts a hi-resolution, multi touch, pinch and zoom display with twice the pixels of competitors. Equipped with a suite of Google™ mobile applications including Google Search™, Google Maps™, Gmail™ and YouTube™ also integrated onto the device, proving a huge hit with mobile savvy consumers.
Motorola’s Android powered QUENCH also caught the attention of consumers with its sleek touch screen design, advanced navigational features such as pinch and zoom and a touch pad, as well as the inclusion of Swype technology enabling consumers to type emails and text messages seamlessly with one finger swipe of the phone’s screen.
Motorola launched some 42 devices around the world in 2010. As smartphone competition heats up across the Middle East, Motorola Mobility continues to drive its market share through identifying clear consumer needs and expectations and this looks set to continue into the New Year.
