Sony Ericsson Extends The Xperia Family With The Addition Of X8

Published Dec 26, 2010

The Xperia range brings consumers the best communication and entertainment experiences, delivered in a collection of smartphones that give consumers choice in size and style.

The Xperia range offers best in class entertainment on top of smartphone fundamentals such as apps, maps, email and fast internet to create the most entertaining smartphones on the market.

This appeal has been further enhanced by the latest addition of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, which joins the Xperia family alongside the Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro. The X8 builds upon the success of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the mini products, while extending the most entertaining smartphones collection to an even broader audience.

And to add even more excitement to the Xperia range, consumers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE now also have the chance to make their Xperia smartphone even more personalized, by downloading a range of free Xperia apps for work and play.

The range of new apps has something to suit every taste and allows Xperia users to enjoy the best Xperia experience from their smartphones. From action packed games apps like Call of Duty Modern Warefare and Guitar Hero 5, to helpful and fun apps like the Tie Coach, Baby Names or Currency Converter apps, and even apps to suit all hobbies, such as the Carbuzz or Camera FX apps there is something for everyone.

The range of new Xperia apps are available for free download for KSA and UAE mobile users.

Also, all Sony Ericsson devices within the Xperia family in the UAE and KSA with Android 2.1 operation system will have the SlideME application preinstalled. SlideME will allow users to download more than three thousand applications on their Xperia devices.

The latest addition to the Xperia family Sony Ericsson Xperia X8:

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is a great entertainment smartphone that takes the appeal of the Xperia collection to new market segments. The user interface is similar to that of the Xperia X10 mini, with the four corners that give easy one hand use and can be customised for one touch access to your favourite applications.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 also includes Timescape for easy access to all your social networking and the infinite button for one click access to a world of content. The open Android operating system also delivers great smartphone functionality.

Ruediger Odenbach, General Manager, Sony Ericsson, Middle East, commented on the addition of the X8 to the Xperia family, "Sony Ericsson's vision is to be the Communication Entertainment brand. We are focussing strongly on the smartphone market and specifically on creating the most entertaining smartphones.
