SanDisk MEA Launches Channel And Retail Strategy In The UAE

SanDisk Middle East and Africa (MEA), the leader in flash memory cards discussed its channel and retail strategy for 2011 at an event held to align its plans with National Store, the recently announced SanDisk distribution partner in the United Arab Emirate (UAE), and retailers in the country.
SanDisk officials stated that the company achieved a 57% growth rate in units sold for 2010 over the previous year.
In the UAE, SanDisk MEA plans to bolster its presence through National Store's extensive dealer network of over 150 major retail outlets across the country's seven Emirates. National Store is the official distribution partner for Canon, a world leader in imaging products and solutions, which will significantly propel SanDisk's presence in the imaging market.
The UAE's consumer electronics market is buoyant and one of the largest in the Gulf . Forecasts suggest that the UAE's consumer electronics market is projected to touch Dhs11.38bn ($3.1bn) in 2011 expected to grow to Dhs14.7bn ($4.0bn) by 2015 . This growth, coupled with our strong and established presence in the UAE, will help reinforce SanDisk's brand in the market," asserts Salah Khoory, General Manager, National Store, the flagship company of JK Sons Group.
SanDisk's product portfolio includes flash memory cards for mobile phones, digital cameras and camcorders; digital audio and video players; USB flash drives for consumers and the enterprise; embedded memory for mobile devices; and solid state drives for computers.
Elaborating on SanDisk's regional presence, Tareq Husseini, SanDisk's MEA Sales Director said, "SanDisk's leadership position in the flash memory market today is the product of years of investment in our channel partners and the market at large, through extensive marketing and market development efforts.
