Published Jan 20, 2011

Panasonic, the leading global manufacturer of consumer electronics, showcased its security products and solution at Intersec 2011, the largest security exhibition in the Middle East.

Intersec trade fair and conference is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition and conference for security and safety in the Middle East. Intersec 2011 will showcase the latest technologies and apparatus in Commercial Security & Information Security, Homeland Security & Policing, Fire & Rescue and Safety & Health.

Panasonic showcased new series of H.264 network cameras for the Middle East market. These cameras support multiple video streams and utilize i-Pro SmartHD® features in low light levels. These state of the art cameras features include facial enhancement to assist in isolating a clear image capture of faces detected. With 720p (HD) H.264 streaming in 16:9 aspect ratio, the new i-pro SmartHD® technology provides the most advanced IP video surveillance solution by sharpening images, even in low light levels, ensuring quality image capture to enhance identification.

The new units feature high definition picture quality employing Panasonic's new UniPhier® LSI processor, bandwidth and energy efficiency, as well as simple installation, set up and operation. The new line of i Pro H.264 megapixel network cameras also offer day/night operation, high sensitivity with automatic calibration for detailed imaging, and progressive scan to ensure clear images without motion blur and tearing. These new cameras support multiple video streams (H.264/MPEG-4/JPEG) and power over Ethernet (PoE, IEEE 802.3af). Additional features of both new camera series include two-way audio, analog video output and support for the IPv4/IPv6 network protocol.

As the regional market continues to demand network cameras with higher resolutions, Panasonic is once again raising the bar in terms of image resolution and network systems functionality while maintaining our proven reputation for product quality and dependability,” commented Masao Motoki, Director System Sales and Marketing Group, Panasonic Marketing Middle East FZE.

Our industry specific solutions are custom made to deliver best of breed technology and Intersec gives us the ideal platform to showcase our industry offerings. Regional business and organizations are always looking out for world class technology. Panasonic experts were on hand at the Panasonic stand to answer queries, provide updates on all Panasonic products and solution, and meet with visitors,” added Motoki.

Visitors and industry professionals sampled the WV series of fixed High Definition (HD) network cameras, namely the WV-SP105E, WV-SP102E and the WV-SW395E and the WVSC385E. These cameras are capable of multiple H.264 (High profile) streams and JPEG streams ensure simultaneous real time monitoring and high resolution recording by “UniPhier®”, Panasonic’s proprietary System LSI platform and are capable of capturing 720p HD images up to 30fps.

WV-SP105E and WV-SP102E:

The WV-SP105 and WV-SP102E are stylish IP cameras boasting a newly developed MOS sensor. These cameras are equipped with 0.32 megapixel high sensitivity MOS sensor that offers full frame (640x480-pixel) transmission at 30 fps and deliver full frame (30 ips) HD (720p) images in H.264 or JPEG multiple streams. The WV-SP105E is however HD, and delivers a huge range of advanced features in its compact and stylish frame.

WV-SW395E and WV SC385E:

The Panasonic WV-SW395E and the WV-SC395E are dome cameras which uses Panasonic UniPhier LSI chip for high definition video and real time video streaming to combine with lower amount of data. A new 1.3-megapixel CMOS image sensor provides high sensitivity and lower power consumption. It also offers pan-tilt-zoom control, auto-tracking, 720p HDTV images and 1280x960 images at up to 30 frames per second in the outdoors. Several H.264 and JPEG video streams provides for simultaneous real-time monitoring of high-resolution images. PTZ control functions allow for monitoring of the full 360 degree field of view, divided into eight thumbnail images with 45 degree intervals.

Furthermore, both the models are ONVIF compliant. ONVIF is an open industry forum for the development of a global standard for the interface of IP-based physical security products. It was officially incorporated as a non-profit, 501(c)6 Delaware corporation on November 25, 2008.

Another key product that was part of Panasonic’s showcase at the exhibition was the Network Disk Recorder WJ-NV200. The WJ-NV200 i-PRO SmartHD Network Disk Recorder boasts embedded real time face matching technology eliminating the use and expense of external software. It uses H.264 (High Profile), MPEG 4 and JPEG formats and can simultaneously display live images of up to 16 cameras.

The network disk recorder supports full high definition (HD) output to display recorded and live images in High Definition. It also boasts a Real Time Face Matching function which registers face images with a face displayed on a live camera feed. Once the face is detected and matched, an alarm notification can be sent by e-mail, Panasonic system alarm, terminal output, buzzer or indicator.

A complete security solutions portfolio was displayed at Intersec this year by Panasonic for visitors to evaluate. At this year’s exhibition visitors sampled the complete, better valued, and industry specific security solutions Panasonic had to offer,” added Motoki.
