R&M Inaugurates New Middle East And Africa Hub

Reichle & De-Massari (R&M, www.rdm.com), the Swiss structured cabling specialist, officially inaugurated its new Middle East and Africa headquarters at an opening event held before distinguished government officials, guests, and members of the press. The new headquarters will serve as a regional hub and is located in the Dubai Airport Free Zone, one of the Middle East’s best business locations. It symbolizes R&M's belief in the future and the innovative strength of a company which is in its 12th year in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
Commenting on the announcement, Middle East and Africa Managing Director, Jean Pierre Labry said, “Due to the rising demand from our customers such as telecom operators looking for customized solutions, R&M has inaugurated a hub in one of the region’s best business locations. Customers will now have the benefit of R&M’s renowned Swiss quality coupled with greater flexibility, customization, and speed to implementation.
R&M’s new MEA headquarters will house all of its administrative, operations, assembly, and logistics functions. The hub allows for assembly and customization capabilities to R&M’s copper and fiber product portfolio including R&M's advanced FTTx solutions. To maintain R&M’s stringent Swiss quality standards, customization is monitored by Swiss technical staff.
In speeches to attendees, R&M Chief Operating Officer Peter Reichle emphasized how the new MEA headquarters is to be the hub for the region in order to streamline logistics and bring Swiss engineered “quality and speed” faster to the market. Jean Pierre Labry noted the importance of maintaining an active and growing presence in the region as well as highlighting R&M’s role in local development and capacity building.
Event speakers also underscored the sustainability based corporate philosophy of the family run business, whose proactive investment policy can be considered a strong commitment to its “investing in the region for the region” approach and testament to the company’s overall expansion plans.
After posting strong results in 2010, R&M anticipates continued success in 2011. The MEA region was particularly successful, and was the Swiss company’s top sales performer last year. This was fueled by a number of successful project completions in important sectors such as enterprise and public networks. Other notable highlights included the increase of its UAE based workforce as well as the decision to allocate a portion of its total investment for regional expansion to the Middle East and Africa region.
