3i Infotech Selects Etisalat To Network Its Global Operations

Published Jul 29, 2009
Etisalat today announced that 3i Infotech had selected its IP Connect service to implement an advanced Ethernet based IP network in order to consolidate its entire National and International connectivity infrastructure under one platform.

The move will help 3i Infotech reap multiple benefits starting with reduced operating costs and enhanced bandwidth to provide an advanced global connectivity infrastructure supported by guaranteed quality of service.

Mr. Pankaj Chawla, CEO and President, 3i Infotech MEARC region said:
“As a technology company it is imperative for us to adopt latest communications technology in order to serve our customers more fruitfully. The new Ethernet based IP network will help us offer our clients next generation ‘Managed Services’ and intelligent routing of mission critical traffic. All of these services will enable 3i Infotech to reach out to its customers in the Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS countries in a more effective way”.

Abdulla Salem Al Mana, General Manager, Dubai, Etisalat said, “Our Global IP Connect service will enable 3i Infotech to transition its legacy leased line network into an advanced IP network capable of supporting its various global offices as well as supporting multiple applications on one platform. The resulting advantages of consolidating all its applications on the IP Connect platform for a simplified network with increased bandwidth to interconnect all its global offices will give 3i infotech the best connectivity alternative while reducing its operational costs substantially“.
He added, “This is yet another example of Etisalat ‘s focus on providing SMBs (Small & Medium Businesses) with the best technology alternatives to enhance their productivity and support their operations”.

Etisalat‘s Global IP Connect service will provide dedicated bandwidth between 3i Infotech’s head office in Dubai and its offices in Sharjah, Chennai and Mumbai.

3i Infotech has already started using the network across its offices which has resulted in reduced travel budgets and increased productivity with ease of access to company employees instantly.

Applications like email, internal systems and others can now be accessed in all these locations using intranet.

With the class of Service (CoS) and priority queuing advantage provided by the service, 3i Infotech can now prioritise the network traffic to ensure that the most important one takes priority over other traffic.

In order to circumvent the challenge of providing the service to 3i Infotech at their office in Dubai Internet City, Etisalat provided them with a solution which involved hosting the 3i InfoTech Server in the Etisalat Data Centre with data leased line connectivity between their DIC office and Etisalat Data Centre in Dubai and thereby interconnecting all other offices to the Etisalat Data Centre.
