Etisalat Offers Its Customers An Opportunity To Explore Location Based Services For Free

Etisalat announced a special promotion for its Location Based Services (LBS).
Etisalat prepaid and post paid customers can now experience the unique service by receiving their locations free of charge, till 10th August.
Location Based Services (LBS) enables the customers to determine their geographical location on their mobile device.
Besides the location, customers can also explore nearest points of interest, like malls, ATM machines, restaurants, lodging, and entertainment options available in that location.
Customers can get the details of their location, through a list of help commands, by sending an SMS “mlist” to 1333 and find nearest places of interest, customers can SMS ‘nlist’ to 1333 (chargeable at 30 Fils per SMS).
Through Location Based services, customers can also send maps of their location to their family, friends and business partners by MMS or email.
Location based service is extremely useful, especially to users who are far from home and are unaware of the local landmarks.
Commenting on the promotion, Essa Al Haddad, Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat, said, “Etisalat has always endeavoured to provide the benefits of convenience, coverage and value to its customers.
By providing Location based services free of charge to our customers; we further want to provide an impetus to this service by making our customers experience its benefits”.
“Location Based Services are extremely useful for the business travellers, elderly, children, women and visiting tourists who might want to explore their location while on the move. Through this service, they can not only map their current location, but also explore places of their interest”. Al Haddad added.
In order to use the location based services effectively, customers should subscribe to MMS or WAP services.
To activate WAP service, customers can SMS “a weyak” to 1010 and to activate MMS service customers can SMS “r mms” to 1010. Post the promotion period, customers will be charged 80 Fils for each location sent to them.
