NETGEAR To Target Regional Broadband Service Providers With Expansion Of First Class Portfolio Of IP Devices

Published Mar 20, 2011

NETGEAR, a leading provider of technologically advanced branded networking and storage products worldwide, is targeting more of the Middle East region’s broadband service providers with the expansion of its first class portfolio of IP devices. It is expected to not only deliver high performance but also increase revenue gains of service providers. The latest offerings by NETGEAR include the OSGi-enabled VDSL2; the GigE dual WAN gateway model, VEVG3700; the Digital Home Hub models DHH1000, VDH1000 and VDB1000 and the DECT Charging base and handset. They are a part of the OSGi-enabled gateways from NETGEAR that enable easy integration of applications such as home security, appliance control, health monitoring, energy management and media sharing services. The expansion complements the company’s ‘Smart IT versus Big IT’ philosophy, which aims to provide its customers with effective and reliable IT products and solutions at much lower prices.

The VDH1000 and VDB1000 are cordless 1.8/1.9GHz DECT solutions that have an LCD display and deliver high quality voice telephony, advanced calling features, long reach and co-exist with WiFi. The DHH1000 has all the same great features as the VEVG3700, but includes ADSL-2+WAN. Meanwhile, the VEVG3700 can be used in DSL, FTTH or DOCSIS networks. The new high-performance gateway features Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi Dual Band, as well as a CAT-iq DECT base station and wired VoIP lines (offering 6 x 6 IP-PBX functionality), making it perfect for both residential and small business applications. NETGEAR, with its cutting edge technology provides a very strong wireless signal which ensures better coverage in large and multi-storey buildings, thereby eliminating a long standing problem faced by broad band providers.

“NETGEAR is expanding its portfolio of IP products and services as part of its efforts to drive in more broadband service providers in the Middle East region,” said Ahmed Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, NETGEAR Middle East. “Our latest offerings complement our commitment in providing our customers with world class and high quality equipment designed to not only deliver high performance but also help in the drive to increase our client’s revenue. These latest products that we have rolled out reflect only a very small part of what we have planned for 2011. We will be launching and introducing more comprehensive solutions and products as the year progresses.”

DECT handsets allow Service Providers to capture additional telephony revenues and deliver convenient, highly integrated IP based voice services. These handsets are equipped with LCD display, deliver high quality voice telephony, advanced calling features, long reach and coexist with WiFi. When connected to a VoIP & DECT-enabled NETGEAR Gateway, up to four handsets are supported. The presence of a CAT-iq DECT base station and wired VoIP line makes the handset a perfect tool for both business and home and the incorporation of NETGEAR technologies makes it highly reliable and easy-to-use.

“NETGEAR remains steadfast in its commitment to provide the GCC region with the latest in networking and storage solutions and services. Our aim is to help drive in more growth and revenue for our customers, which in turn will help us create a more solid and stronger presence in the region. Rest assured, we will continue our efforts to create the best solutions to help companies, enterprises and even individual users improve on efficiencies and productivity. As you grow, we grow too,” concluded Zeidan.
