SAS Consolidates Regional Market Leadership With 35th Consecutive Year Of Continuous Revenue Growth

Published Mar 21, 2011

SAS Middle East, the leading provider of analytical intelligence (AI) software and services in the Middle East region, has consolidated its leadership in the GCC’s software and services segment with the advent of its 35th straight year of continuous growth. The reported increase complements the company’s reported USD 2.43 billion in global revenues for 2010 and has prompted a strategic move to expand the company’s products and services. The record global turnover represents a 5.2 per cent increase from 2009 and reflects the Middle East region’s growing acceptance of the importance of data security, handling and maintenance in key business operations. Recent industry reports have also shown that companies in the region are accumulating data at a rapid pace, which has highlighted the need for effective and reliable data software. Realizing this trend, SAS is looking towards leveraging its products and services across the region’s public and private sectors and help drive its growth in 2011.

To help consolidate its strong market presence, the company has entered into strategic partnerships with key companies and organizations in the region. An example of this is its recent partnership with Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD). Under the terms of the partnership, SAS is set to provide AI software and services to SCAD for the collection, compilation, storage, analysis and dissemination of accurate results by the Centre. The partnership supports the development of SCAD's IT strategy, which is one of the most important initiatives of the Center. Further, SAS is also celebrating 35 years in the business this year and prides itself on enjoying sustained revenue growth combined with high customer loyalty.

“The Middle East region has become a strong focal point for strengthening our market presence and consolidating our leadership as a key provider of AI software to companies from different industries,” said Amir Sohrabi, Alliances and Partners Manager, SAS Middle East. “The growth has encouraged SAS to look towards expanding the products and services that we offer in the region. We continue to live up to our strong reputation of always putting our customers on top of all concerns. Our customers have remained loyal and have always renewed licenses with us - a reflection of the confidence and trust that they have placed in us and our ability to provide them with world-class solutions.”

SAS has maintained a key Middle East presence over the last 18 years. The company has implemented a series of strategic initiatives that aims to ensure strong market presence in all GCC countries - working closely with governments, banking, oil & gas, telecommunications, security and defense and providing the expertise to support the businesses and public needs. The company’s solutions portfolio offer various products based on sector and goal. However, solutions that address the business need, show a return on investment and increase the bottom line profits have remained the company’s key focus. Further, SAS has once again been ranked No.1 on FORTUNE magazine's annual ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ list, particularly as being one of the best for health care, child care and work-life balance. Since the list was established in 1998, SAS has been part of the top list every year; with this year marking the eighth time SAS has been in the top 10.

“SAS remains steadfast in its commitment to providing customers with a unique business solution that reflects our ability to understand the business problem over the technology need. SAS is the bell weather for advanced predictive analytics. Rest assured that our focus will continue to be on our customer’s needs and ensuring all of our solutions are developed from the ground up and are fully integrated,” concluded Sohrabi.
