Mada Communications Jordan has completed the installation and operation works of the Fiber Optic Cable which connects Jordan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Eastern border gate (Al-Omari); serving as a parallel line to the existing Fiber Optic Line that passes through Aqaba to the city of Jeddah to ensure a continuous connection to the World Wide Web.
This line is connected to the Saudi Telecom network and reaches the international marine (undersea) cables at a 10GB per second speed, which secures a communication line for both telephone and internet services in the Kingdom and links it to other neighboring Arab countries as well.
Engineer Khaled Al-Saqri, Technical Director at Mada stated: 'This is considered a fundamental achievement since the line is connected to the Eastern marine cables as well as to the cables that pass through the Suez Canal which will effectively ensure uninterrupted communication to and from the Kingdom in case of emergencies that might occur in the Suez Canal'.
'Mada Communications launched its wireless internet service in Jordan using the Wi-MAX technology back in late March 2009 in cooperation with Zain Jordan, who is a major shareholder in the company; both Zain and Mada wireless internet subscribers will be able to access high speed internet through this fiber optic cable,' Engineer Al-Saqri added.
It is worth noting that Mada Communications is distinguished for using its own Fiber Optic network which connects it to the World Wide Web and increases its efficiency and quality of services offered.
Mada Group is a leading WiMAX operator with operations in Jordan, Lebanon and Kuwait.
Mada Jordan is a joint venture between Zain Jordan and Mada Group offering wireless broadband services, including voice and high speed data to customers and internet service providers in the region.
