du Live! Brings Alive ‘Vishu’ Festival With South Indian Superstar Mammootty

It was an event like never before on the evening of 1 April at the Dubai Festival City for the grand finale of Asianet’s popular reality show, “Mammootty the Best Actor,” where approximately 15,000 people attended a glittering, star-studded night. Making the event special was an appearance by none other than the South Indian superstar Mammootty himself – who visited Dubai on the invitation of du on the auspicious occasion of “Vishu” – the New Year’s festival celebrated in the southern state of Kerala in India.
What was set to be a simply a finale episode turned out to be Asianet’s biggest ground event in 2011 with the judge of the reality show, megastar Mammootty performing live on stage with the finalists. The stage was set on fire with special performances by top artistes such as Nedumudi Venu, Dileep, Kalabhavan Mani, Jagathy Sreekumar, Jagdeesh, Harisree Asokan, Kalpana, Padma Priya, Mamtha Mohandas, Mira Nandan, Ramya Nambisan, Shwetha Mohan and Karthik, of the South Indian film industry in an extravagant evening with over 4 hours of live entertainment.

The event was presented as a "du Live!" initiative which brings the best of live entertainment and music to the UAE, including the first-ever du World Music Festival held recently at Jumeirah Beach Residences in Dubai.
