Bayt.com Reveals Region’s Latest Salary Insights At 11th Annual Career Development Forum

Published Apr 17, 2011

Bayt.com, the MENA region’s number one job site, held its “Salary Trends 2011” event on day one of the 11th Annual Career Development Forum at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Dubai (March 29,2011). The event, that answered the question “Where do we stand today when it comes to salaries?” and revealed informative up-to-date insights on the MENA region’s current salaries, witnessed an enthusiastic participant response.

“At Bayt.com, we are dedicated to the region’s growth and development as much as we are to our job seekers and employers. As such, Bayt.com has a long tradition of hosting employer roundtable events that foster useful dialogues about the very latest in pan-regional MENA-wide as well as very local HR trends and developments, using our expertise to proactively benefit the region’s companies,” said Amer Zureikat, VP Sales, Bayt.com

The event was organized in three parts. The first, Salaries: Are they the only retention factor?, was run by Suha Mardelli, HR Director, Bayt.com and discussed whether salaries are still a key path to employee loyalty in addition to other top employee motivators in the Middle East today including the importance of good working conditions. Next, Amer Zureikat, Sales VP, Bayt.com, discussed the satisfaction of the MENA region’s professionals with their 2011 income, competitive packages and raises as per most recent Bayt.com Middle East Salary Research Survey which has just been released. Finally, Muhammed Younas, Product Manager, Bayt.com, gave an informative session on the best Middle Eastern salaries earned today and pay structure comparisons using Bayt.com’s online Salary Calculator tool which is the latest innovative technical product offering from Bayt.com and the first and only comprehensive pan-regional, pan-industrial online Salary benchmarking and analysis tool in the Middle East.

The final part of the event featured a very well-received Employers Round Table Discussion where guests were invited to ask their questions and give their feedback in the presence and with the support of Bayt.com’s professionals. The response was enthusiastic and gave Bayt.com the opportunity to highlight its latest innovations in HR research, tools techniques and technologies including its highly anticipated and widely acclaimed 2011 Bayt.com MENA Salary Survey as well as its polls on workplace motivation and employee engagement and satisfaction.

“I’ve been engaged in the HR industry for over 15 years now and I can definitely state that Bayt’s roundtable event on salary trends was very valuable and rewarding both on a personal and professional level to participants. By tackling the topic on various levels, this event helped me forge a more precise approach to salaries in the region. Although I’m not new to Bayt.com, learning more about its recently launched pioneering Salaries functionality was of utmost importance and I now am one of many other HR stakeholders and employers who are very thrilled for finally having a reliable salary calculator in the region”. Khaled Helaly, Director, HR Strategy and Business Planning, Qatar Foundation.

“Thank you so much for your presentation at the IIR Careers Management conference. Your presentation regarding salaries in the Middle East was very interesting; however for me I found your insights into your HR programs which enabled your company to be voted 'Great Place to Work' especially interesting. Congratulations on the award!” Jacky Buzaglo, Human Resources, ACCOR Middle East.

“It’s great that there are Round Table events at all. Opinions were shared, viewpoints presented & defended. Progress is about finding common ground & building upon positive constructive experiences, which is why more such discussions should take place. It’s also an opportunity for ‘reality checks’ & generally unveiling the truth behind data. Bayt have done a tremendous job of encompassing the areas which used to ‘hurt’ a lot a decade ago in the Middle East employee market & they have filled a void which the social & business structure can’t but be exceptionally grateful for” said Vally Topalska-Devolder, OD Advisor - Organisational Development.

According to Bayt.com’s 2011 Middle East Salary Survey conducted by Bayt.com in conjunction with regional research specialists YouGov Siraj, salary satisfaction across the Middle East is looking stable with just 3% of residents stating they are highly satisfied with their remuneration, 52% saying they are averagely satisfied and 45% stating they have low satisfaction. Bayt.com is the largest and most relevant community of professionals interested in the MENA region with over 5.5 million registered jobseekers and 40,000 employers. Bayt.com has 11 regional offices, over 200 staff and a 10 year track record of successfully matching the region’s top talent with top employment opportunities in every industry and at every career level.

“As the Middle East’s leading online business and recruitment intelligence platform, we welcome the opportunity to network with new and existing employers highlighting how our expertise in the human resources industry and Middle Eastern market in general can best benefit them. We received a very positive response at this event and plan to hold many more”, added Zureikat, Bayt.com.
