Kaspersky Pure Demonstrates Excellent Results In Tests Conducted By Virus Bulletin

Published May 2, 2011

Kaspersky Lab announces that Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations and Kaspersky PURE have been awarded the prestigious VB100 accolade from the authoritative British magazine Virus Bulletin.

In a comparative test published in Virus Bulletin's April issue, all three solutions achieved excellent results for malware detection. Over a five-week period, 69 of the most popular antivirus products were put through their paces on machines running Windows XP, Service Pack 3.

Notably, this was the first independent test in which Kaspersky PURE was able to demonstrate that it has what it takes to provide world-class protection. Running in 'on-demand scanning’ and 'real-time protection’ modes, Kaspersky PURE neutralized 100% of the viruses from the WildList collection as well as all polymorphic viruses.

Kaspersky PURE also proved its mettle in Reactive and Proactive (RAP) detection tests, scoring 94.5%. The Kaspersky Lab solution performed significantly better than rival products from Symantec, McAfee and ESET, which were less than impressive in many other criteria also.

Under the toughest of test conditions, Kaspersky PURE did not produce a single false positive and performed excellently against archived malware of all types. The researchers also highlighted the scanning speed the iSwift technology implemented in Kaspersky Lab’s solution allowed it to achieve top results in repeated file scanning leaving its competitors far behind.

The authors of the review commented on the intuitive, user-friendly interface, as well as many other improvements in the Kaspersky Lab solutions, which left them with a very positive impression of the products.

Kaspersky PURE is the flagship product of Kaspersky Lab’s range of home user solutions: it embodies a new, integrated approach to IT security in which all the protection systems work in synergy to guard users’ computers against any types of threats. Kaspersky PURE comprehensively protects users’ information and online transactions by encrypting personal data to prevent theft and unauthorized access, storing passwords to different services and applications centrally, and ensuring that deleted data cannot be restored.
