The symposium includes thought leaders from Research In Motion (RIM) and representatives from companies across the Qtel Group including Nawras from Oman, Asiacell from Iraq, Wataniya from Kuwait and Indosat from Indonesia, as well as other Qtel Group partners.
The meeting, the first best-practices symposium of its kind held in the region, addresses the changing mobility needs of enterprises and small businesses in the Middle East and Asian markets and assesses ways that operators can support both prepaid and postpaid customers, among other topics.
Dr. Nasser Marafih, Group CEO, Qtel said: “At Qtel Group level, we have a strong and evolving relationship with RIM, demonstrated by our pioneering work to introduce the BlackBerry solution in our core markets. By sharing knowledge and examining new trends at this symposium, we will be able to deliver the latest innovations to customers across our regional footprint. This is also part of our drive to support the creation of sophisticated local mobile applications and content, fostering the local developer ecosystem to accelerate growth of the mobile content industry in the Middle East region.”
This two day event, held at La Cigale Hotel, is divided into a number of interactive sessions chaired by leading technology and marketing experts from the participating companies.
