Report: Trend Micro Declared Virtualization Security Market Management Leader

Published May 24, 2011

Trend Micro Incorporated, a global cloud security leader, heads the worldwide market for virtualization security management with an estimated 13 percent market share, according to a recent report by Technavio. The “Global Virtualization Security Management Solutions 2010-2014” May 2011 report examines the virtualization security management market and further discusses vendors offering virtualization security solution to end users.

According to Technavio, “The global virtualization security management solutions market was $337.5 million in 2010 and is expected to grow to $1573.5 million by 2014, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 46.9 percent.” According to the report, “The growth is expected to come mainly due to the increasing adoption of server virtualization and increasing risk of virtualization.” In addition, researchers cited that Trend Micro, as a result of the acquisition of Third Brigade, and the Company’s continued innovation has “fair geographical diversification, excellent partnership network with leading technology companies like Microsoft, HP, Sun Microsystems, etc.”

“We have seen an impressive rate of data consolidation and virtualization across all enterprises, especially from our growing customer base,” said John Maddison, executive general manager for the Data Center Business Unit at Trend Micro. “Our enterprise customers realize that it doesn't matter whether the servers are physical, virtual, inside the corporate data center, or in the cloud; these servers and, more importantly, the data within the servers need to be secure and kept safe from malware and hacker attacks. Virtual environment security continues to be a high priority for Trend Micro as witnessed by our consistent innovation and our clear market leadership in this area.”
