Data Center Operators Must Properly Weigh Pros & Cons Of In-House Vs Outsourcing – Injazat
Published May 31, 2011

Injazat Data Systems advises data center operators faced with tight budgets, emerging security threats and high business goals to more closely evaluate which parts of their data center infrastructure to outsource and which ones to strategically keep in-house. The UAE’s leading information technology and business process managed services provider discussed effective approaches in this regard during the Decisions & Strategy conference held as part of DatacenterDynamics Middle East Africa at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Spanning 50 annual conferences in major business hubs around the world including 5 in the Middle East, DatacenterDynamics is recognized as the definitive networking and knowledge-sharing event for data center designers, builders and owners.
At DatacenterDynamics MEA, Platinum Sponsor Injazat presented the business cases for in-house, outsourced and mixed data center support. Injazat Head of Consulting Services Gregory Trinh also discussed how to optimize the management of owned data center infrastructures with capabilities that are in the ‘cloud,’ at a collocation provider, or entrusted to a managed services provider.
“There are benefits to outsourcing all or parts of the data center function, depending on the size, nature and goals of the enterprise. The key is for CIOs, CTOs and data center management to properly determine which functions to contract out and which to strategically keep in place. There are solid economic and operational arguments for outsourcing data center capabilities in light of the emergence of trends such as cloud
computing which forward-thinking businesses should explore,” said Bala Pandalangat, CEO, Injazat Data Systems.
In 2010 more than 16,000 senior data center professionals attended a DatacenterDynamics event. In the 2011 DatacenterDynamics MEA’s special Decisions & Strategy forum, prominent industry speakers assessed factors to consider in adopting a data center strategy that uses in-house or outsourcing solutions to meet business and operational requirements. Other key topics discussed during the conference included capacity planning; analysis of the financial and business benefits of outsourcing; alternatives to owning and operating data centers; applications best suited for outsourced environments; and compliance, cross-border data protection and security issues.
Injazat Data Systems gained a firm foothold on the Middle East’s emerging data center market by launching the region’s first design-certified Tier IV data center in 2008. Injazat provides IT strategy, consultancy, systems integration and outsourcing services to over 50,000 public and private sectors end-users.
