ICT Tenders Portal Attracts Accelerating Interest

Published Jun 5, 2011

OLAF, the holding company of ArabWorldIT.com website that specializes in offering Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tenders, announced a 63% increase in the number of tenders earned by its members during the first quarter of 2011.

The company said that the percentage of the referral of projects to stakeholders increased by 9% compared to the same period of 2010.

Eng. Alaa Ensheiwat, CEO and OLAF founder, attributed this increase to the growing interest of ICT companies in the services offered by ArabWorldIT.com, and to their desire to track down significant projects offered daily by the private and public sectors in the region.

“As a result of being specialized in offering ICT tenders and providing its visitors with comprehensive information, the website was able to attract more than 500 regional and international companies to sign up for membership in less than a year. It earned the respect and appreciation of hundreds of Arab institutions, which rely on it completely for placing their tenders and receiving competitive offers,” Ensheiwat said.

“Our platform offers tenders’ owners a chance to search for the right contractor for each project, as well as providing companies working in the ICT sector with information about the tenders they can benefit from,” he added.

Ensheiwat expects ArabWorldIT.com to attract even more members, along with an increase in the number of projects offered for RFPs on the website, currently amounting to around 120 projects per month.

Ensheiwat says this growth represents the strength of the Arab ICT markets and their ability to recover from the impact of the global financial crisis, now its third year.

“Numbers indicate in the near future the ICT market is going to rely more on the internet for tenders’ advertising than the traditional means of communication. The reason is that the internet is better at targeting concerned companies, as well as being fast, simple, and competitively priced method of advertising,” he said.

Ensheiwat points out ArabWorldIT.com are using the latest modern technologies based on high security standards to ensure all processes are running in a secure e-environment offering users the ability to communicate, exchange expertise, and search for specialized companies to contract with.

ArabWorldIT.com is the first Arab website to specialize in the ICT sector, offering comprehensive information and unique services. The website has a free directory of all Arab and foreign ICT companies working in the region.
