Omnix International, the leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution provider, has announced that it is on track to reach its goal of AED 500 million in total revenue for the fiscal year 2011, which covers the period of January to December 2011. The company has also expressed confidence in keying in 40 per cent growth this year with the roll out of the latest range of Autodesk Infrastructure Suite of solutions in the Middle East market. The announcement was made during the roadshows held recently at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The roadshows are part of the company’s recent move to introduce its integrated package of new BIM based software, which includes the 2012 editions of AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks and Autodesk Revit Architecture, Structure and MEP.
The company currently boasts of a 5,000 strong customer base spanning across the Middle East region, with a key presence in different infrastructure projects in UAE, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The increasing number of major infrastructure projects is also expected to increase Omnix’s UAE & GCC customer base by 15 to 20 per cent. Further, the company has revealed key presence in the growing percentage of green and sustainable projects in the region, as eco-friendly designs of these projects have been created through BIM software like Autodesk Revit and Ecotect. An example of Autodesk BIM solutions being used is the Masdar Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, which is expected to achieve 103 per cent positive energy generation when completed.
“The Middle East is currently seeing an influx of major construction projects that ably reflect the region’s move towards recovery. With the advent of these new projects, utilizing strategic BIM software is a must to help reduce the clashes between trades that are often missed during the design stage,” said Dr. Jayant Deshpande, Director, Omnix International. “We are upbeat in reaching our goal of AED 500 million target revenue this year. We are also eyeing to play a major role in the many ongoing projects in the region. Using the new Autodesk Building Suite will give our customers the advantage of creating more strategic and accurate designs and also save a lot on cost and time during the design process.”
The second set of roadshows was held recently in Damman, Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The Autodesk Building & Infrastructure Suite package includes an expanded family of design applications.
The solutions are available in convenient packages with a range of capabilities that bring together compatible sets of complementary products for building, infrastructure and visual design that helps in managing design, data, workflow and process.
AutoCAD 2012 is the latest edition of the Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) application for 2D and 3D design. The newest version offers a broad toolset that drives in a more efficient approach in the drafting and documentation process. AutoCAD 2012 features simplified migration tools, customizable user and programming interface and partner compatible products and services.
“Utilizing revolutionary BIM software gives our customers a realistic view from a virtual model that allows them a better understanding of the complexity of the structures being designed. Potential clashes are detected early in the process and gives room to make the necessary changes and revisions immediately. Omnix International remains fully committed to providing its wide range of BIM solutions across the current crop of major projects in Middle East region,” said Deepak Mehta, Manager, Omnix International.
Autodesk Navisworks 2012 version help architecture, engineering, and construction professionals gain control over project outcomes. The solution allows users to integrate, share, and review 3D models and multi-format data with all project stakeholders.
Navisworks supports BIM for building and infrastructure, as well as 3D model based design for process and plans. Revit Structure, Revit MEP and Revit Architecture are solutions based on the Revit BIM platform, which ushers in a more digital approach in building design, delivery and management. During the design process, Revit automatically creates all other corresponding project information, including accurate floor plans, elevations, sections, quantity takeoffs, area calculations and schedules.
