TE To Elect New CEO

Telecom Egypt will hold its board of directors meeting Wednesday to select a CEO for the company.

Tarek Kamel, minister of telecommunications and IT, recently said that the position of Telecom Egypt’s chairman will be separated from the position of its CEO, with Akil Bashir staying on as chairman.

Tarek Tantawy, the company’s current Chief Financial Officer, is likely to be the new CEO, the paper reported. Telecom Egypt has elected 11 new members for its board of directors, in its ordinary general assembly meeting held on July 29.
