A Better Future For Kids Through Technology & Innovation

Published Jun 28, 2011

With constantly advancing technology an integral part of our daily considerations, it is becoming more and more important to educate, challenge and encourage children to partake in innovation – to be future leaders of Egypt. As such, Alexandria City Centre launches its second installment of Techno Kids or Techno Innovation Competition 2011.

Between 23rd June until 20th July, and in collaboration with Techno Kids Egypt – a trusted publisher of technology curriculum used to teach thousands of students every day the skills that will best prepare them for the digital age – the super-regional mall will be providing Techno workshops for children between the age of 9 and 17 to different scientific areas of interest, and will received a certificate of participation. Due to the overwhelming response received last year this year there will be six, two hour workshops per day – over six days – on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of June as well as the 7th, 8th and 9th July. All workshops will be held at Alexandria City Centre Gate 4.

Alexandria City Centre Mall Manager Omar Gaafar commented, “We are providing a platform for kids to exercise their minds, and for them to learn new concepts in fields where they may already have an interest. Through this unique and educational programme we are helping shape the future leaders of our country.”

The aim of this great initiative is to provide kids with basic research skills and improve learning opportunities by encouraging participating students to find innovative ideas and creative solutions in one of the following fields: Environment, Medicine, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer, The Science of Plants and Animals and many more.

Students wishing to go on to submit a written scientific presentation using the skills they have acquired to gather information, will be given the supervision by professionals in each of the for mentioned fields, before a final judging panel of professors that will reconvene at Alexandria City Centre Gate 4 from 8th – 10th September 2011.

The lucky winner will receive an array of exciting gifts which include spending a day at the mall to shop with gift vouchers from participating stores. The winner will also receive a Techno Kids medal and certificate of achievement from Alexandria City Centre.
