R&M Unveils Innovative New Cable Management System

Published Jun 29, 2011

Reichle and De-Massari (R&M, www.rdm.com), the Swiss structured cabling specialist, announced its latest innovation the new cable management system for 19’’ network cabinets. R&M’s recent addition to its data center solutions range are proof of R&M’s growing focus and success in the data center arena in the Middle East and Africa.

The object of R&M’s latest system is to simplify patching while increasing the density of cabling and protecting individual cables more effectively. The system is called HD Cable Management. HD stands for "High Density", replacing space-wasting patching brackets that have been common up until now.

Commenting on the announcement, Jean Pierre Labry, Managing Director, R&M Middle East and Africa, noted, “R&M’s latest addition to our extensive data center solutions range is a testament to R&M’s continued focus on providing forward-looking solutions in key vertical markets.”

“We’re certain that planners and installers will value the ground-breaking flexibility and features such as the all around protection of individual cables, simplified patching, and the replacement of space-wasting patching brackets from the new HD Cable Management system,” added Labry.

R&M’s HD Cable Management system consists of compact plastic trays inserted laterally and horizontally in the distribution cabinets. It is quicker to lay patch cables in or take them out of these wire guides than with conventional methods and to feed them via recesses to the connections. There is no longer any need to thread them into patching brackets. Velcro tape provides strain relief. Covers with hinged catches protect the cables. The covers can be opened without tools and easily removed in their entirety if need be. That gives users free access to the cable bundles. The tripartite layout of the lateral and vertical covers is another feature that simplifies patching work. The design ensures minimum bending radii for stress-free cable management throughout the cabinet.

HD Cable Management is part of the modular 19’’ network cabinet range from R&M. It offers variations for the widest range of applications, cabling strategies, as well as air-management and cooling concepts. There are 600 and 800 mm wide racks, lightweight construction and sturdy versions for heavy loads as well as doors made of glass, steel plate and perforated plate. The range also features a myriad of possible combinations with the cabling periphery. The system therefore covers typical needs ranging from passive distribution panel to server and storage segment. The cabinet system is suitable for the basic equipment of computer rooms as well as for high-performance networks with high density copper or fiber optic cabling. It can also be used in telecommunication centers, control stands, offices, clinics and in structured building cabling. The HD cable management system is now available in the Middle East and Africa through R&M in-country offices and channel partners.

Known for its reputation as a quality leader with their over 5,500 copper and fiber optic products, R&M’s latest data center solutions advancements highlight the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in the market. Supported by local offices throughout the Middle East and Africa, including in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt, R&M delivers unsurpassed cabling solutions with high performance and efficiency.
